Lucky us. Our neighborhood now has a pit bull! A neighbor two doors down recently brought home a pit bull puppy. This particular neighbor does NOT have a fenced yard and they let the dog roam free through the neighborhood. This dog has been seen as far as 4 or 5 blocks away from his home! This dog may still be a puppy but you never know if and when it can turn on you.
We have heard way too many stories of children getting attacked. Shannon and I remember one particular attack where the dog got ahold of a child and the mother stepped in and grabbed her son and put him in the garbage and put the lid on the can so her son would be safe while she fought off the dog!
Here's the latest story of a pit bull attacking a toddler.
Kyle's bus stop is down the street, which means I have to walk by that house to drop him off and pick him up. Thankfully, there are only 3 days left of school for Kyle.
What is Crunchy? "Green;" environmentally-friendly. I love green cleaning and making my own laundry soap!
His First Visit To His New School
Kyle starts school in just a few days! He will be starting 6th grade at a brand new school, in a new school district.

As you can probably tell from the blog title, our visit did not go as planned. First, let's start from the beginning.

I just need to vent a bit… Just a little advice ~ If you want someone to purchase from a business that you represent, don’t be RUDE to them!...
Well to be honest I have owned several Pit Bulls over the years. And just like ANY dog out there yes they can turn on you. But so can every other dog you come accross. They just get a bad name because all you hear are the people that fight them and train them to be mean. But honestly if you have a problem with the dog 'roaming' then call your animal control office and have them take care of it. But just remember that it's not the dog it's the way the dog is trained. I love pit bulls and would own them again in a heart beat! They were the best dogs I've ever owned. And actually a pit bull is like a cat next to a Dalmation dog. Which is more likely to attack than anyother dog out there. So I wouldn't fret. But again just call animal control. :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely believe it's the owner as well. Unfortunately this particular neighbor has problems in the neighborhood before. They have had the police called on them several times!
ReplyDeleteI just think it's irresponsible to own a dog (like a pit bull) without a fenced yard.
And I agree. I think it is irresponsible period to own any dog without some proper fencing or chains. Like I said I would def call your animal control office or even the local police deptartment (if animal control is closed) and report the owners.
