One week of overlap

This week I have two classes that are overlapping.  I started a new class today (Tuesday) but I am on my last week of my current class!  It's a little stressful as I am trying to juggle the school work and making sure I don't miss a deadline!  My current class is pretty much done.  I have a few discussion posts to post and respond to and then I have to turn in my final paper (which is done).

I've been keeping up with my workouts and doing pretty well!  I am proud of myself for sticking with the schedule.  I am trying to get into better shape since I want to take Kyle to our apartment complex pool this summer!  Kyle loves the water.  He loves taking a bath and I am pretty sure he would love the pool.  Although, I am going to have to get in the pool with him.  I may want to get arm floats for him to wear in the water, just in case.  He even loves putting on his swim trunks when he takes a bath.

This morning, I gathered as much trash as I could.  I wanted to get rid of knick knacks, scraps of paper, old toys and junk that has been piling up.  I hope to do more trash gathering tomorrow.  I have to throw away things when Kyle is away from home, otherwise, he'll want to put everything back!

We've been talking about canceling cable and switching over to Netflix.  However, I believe we need a special remote to use with the PS3.  We can still use and watch Netflix but having the remote would be much easier.  So we've been stalling on actually ordering Netflix.  I would also love to switch over to Magic Jack to save money on our phone service.  I'll have to discuss it with my husband and see what he thinks.

Bath adventures

A few nights ago, Shannon was taking a bath and Kyle would always play in the water with him.  He'd put his whole arm in the water or take one of his toys and play with it in the water.  The other night, Kyle decided to get in the bath with his daddy!  It was so cute!  So they took a bath together!

Last night I was taking a bath and Kyle decided to take a bath with me too!  It was too funny and cute at the same time.  So we ended up taking a bath together.  I shampoo'd his hair and washed his body as usual.  He seems to like how high the water is in the bathtub.  When I give him a bath, I fill it about 4 or 5 inches high.

Let's see if this works!

I have heard that adding epsom salts to your bath helps relax and relieve sore muscles and wanted to try it.  Since I started Turbo Fire, I am sore the following day and even several days after my workout.  My workout schedule is normally 6 days a week of workouts and one day of rest but I've been taking every other day off, if not more because of muscle soreness!

I am using a vitamin supplement that helps with energy, endurance, and recovery but they are a little costly compared to a bag of epsom salts!  Plus the supplement isn't helping with the recovery part.

We went to Walmart today for a quick trip.  I ended up getting a 4 lb bag of epsom salts for less than $4 or so.  They also had a 6 lb bag, but I opted for the 4 lb instead.  I also bought a thermometer to use when I attempt to make soy candles (I should receive my package tomorrow).  I already have a thermometer but it doesn't go lower than 120 degrees.  I also bought some socks since I needed some.  Shannon and I stocked up on more food as well!

This time, we went to a different Walmart than the one we normally go to.  The one we usually go to is less than 6 miles away but the one we went to today is only a mile further, so it's about 7 miles away from where we live.  We dislike/hate/despise the Walmart we've been going to because every time we went to check out, we've had issues.  One time that stood out is some bitch of a customer just cut in front of us...  Every other time at check out, we've had to wait 15 minutes or more just to check out!!!  It's just insane.  By that time, our frozen food is half thawed!  They only have 4 registers open and the lines are 5 or 6 [full] carts deep!  They never request for additional cashiers to help and I noticed that the majority of their registers go unused because they don't work!!!  They always have the "self checkout" lanes open but when you have a full cart, you can't use that option.

The Walmart we went to today was much nicer looking and newer looking.  It looked cleaned and was a little less crowded!  And guess what?  We didn't have to wait longer than a minute to get helped because there were no lines!  They had much more registers open!

Therapy interrupted & JC Penneys

We got off to a late start this morning.  Shannon woke up late and then we had to start the car to let it warm up as it was covered with ice (it was 16 degrees this morning).  Not only that, I heard on this morning's news that there was an overturned tractor trailor on the freeway.  We weren't sure if it was on the freeway we had to take.  As it turns out, the accident was on our way, but the truck was overturned in the ditch and everything was off on the shoulder so it didn't affect traffic.

Kyle had therapy today.  While he was doing that, we went to Walmart where I had to return a few things and pick up a few things.  I plan on making homemade energy bars and needed the ingredients for that.  I also bought some snack foods for Kyle.   We usually return to the therapy place a little early.  As I was coming out of the ladies room, I heard Kyle whining and looked at the clock to make sure we weren't late coming back.  His therapist said he wanted to leave (he was whining and went towards the door).  So we all went back in there to "play" and he was okay with it for a bit, but then he wanted to leave.  So we ended up leaving early.

On the way home, we stopped at JC Penney's to pick up the toys my mom bought for Kyle for Christmas.  I also ended up buying a bath rug set in Olive color for our bathroom.  It looks good in the bathroom but Kyle doesn't like change, so he keeps removing one of the rugs from the bathroom!  LOL

The sun will come out...Today!

The sun came out today! It's been at least 4 days of rain and overcast/cold weather! Kyle had to stay indoors for the last 4 days as well.

Today, he made up for being indoors for so long. He was outside playing the yard, running up and down. Shannon and I went outside as well and enjoyed the sunny weather. It was a little windy and not too hot. It actually started to get warm in the house. I really liked the fresh air and even walked around the yard for exercise.

Shannon also started digging the garden. He just loosened up the top soil. Hopefully he'll get more digging in this week. Kyle got pretty dirty. He had dirt on his face and clothes. I had to give him a bath tonight. I took a shower and then Shannon showered as well. I also had to do laundry today. Shannon really likes his new jeans, which I am glad I bought. He really needed new pants. We may even get him a few more pairs.

Nap, Mini Date, Stray Cat

Shannon has split days off this week and today was his Saturday from work.

Kyle woke up really early. He went to bed last night around 7:30pm. The tv woke me up a few times this morning. Kyle has figured out the buttons on the tv and likes to play with them. He’s figured out how to turn the tv on and off. I woke up to the news, but apparently Kyle didn’t mind “watching” the news.

I also found out today that one of my home businesses will start charging a monthly fee to help cover the costs of our websites, forum, chat, etc. I was really upset about this and later discovered that many other consultants are too. Many of them are going to or thinking of leaving the company like I am. Thankfully, I have another home business that I am with that sells the same type of products.

I felt tired this afternoon so I was able to take a nap, so Shannon watched Kyle. It was nice being able to sleep in peace.

Shannon and I ordered I am Legend through our cable company. As the movie progressed we were both wondering if it was going to be another BORING movie like Castaway, where the main character ended up talking to a volleyball and a coconut. Since this was a Will Smith movie, it turned out to be really good. We weren’t thrilled with the ending though. Anyway, we ended up having a really good “mini date.” So we’re hoping to do this again.

I gave Kyle a bath tonight and as I was getting Kyle dressed, Shannon led me to the living room and said “That’s so sad.” Of course, I looked around and didn’t see anything “sad” and wasn’t sure what he meant. Then he said “look outside.” There was a stray cat on our porch. Shannon said she came up to him and started meowing. He tried giving the cat water, which she refused. Then he tried soy milk (we didn’t have cow’s milk) and cheese. She ate the cheese and that was about it. I don’t know much about cats except that I am allergic, so I kept asking Shannon about them. She stayed in front of our place for a good half hour and left.

Awesome Day & Back to Normal

Today was an awesome day for me. I feel like I accomplished so much! First, I did all of my weekly cleaning today -- I usually clean on Sundays. For some reason, I was in the mood to clean. I also did some laundry and vacuuming, which tend to be everyday chores.

I also took the time to write a letter! I was done with all of my chores and decided I had some free time to sit down and write.

Also, I am really proud of myself because I made our bed. I had to wash our sheets for the second time within the last few days. There was a little accident so the sheets needed to be washed. Anyway, since Shannon was at work, I decided to make the bed. I don’t normally make the bed, I do help though. But I made the entire bed. I usually have Shannon make the bed because he does it the same way housekeepers make it at a hotel. He learned how to make beds from his work experience. So we do our bed the same way.

Lastly, I successfully gave Kyle a bath after 2 months of not having a real bath. Shortly after Shannon started his job, Kyle decided he didn’t like taking baths, nor did he like going outside. There were a few times where we had to hold him down just to wash his hair. In the past, I had given him little sponge/wipe downs instead of a bath. But today, I just tried to give him a bath. He cried a little at first, but then he was back to his normal happy self. He didn’t want to get out of the tub.

I have also been taking Kyle out for walks around the complex! He now likes going outside. I wanted to start walking because I knew that we both needed that extra exercise and Kyle needed to start getting outside again.

Our beloved Dyson

I basically complained/explained to my DH today that I really want to buy a new vacuum, only because he’s said (for the last 3 weeks) that he “would take a look at it.” Since he never did, I am stuck vacuuming our house with the hose…and my back is hurting like H*LL! So he said he’d take a look at it today and he actually did. I even spent some time this morning looking at a variety of vacuums to buy! Anyway, he took the filter out and cleaned it. We have to let it dry before we can put it back in the vacuum to use… I am really hoping that it’s JUST the filter that needed to be washed for our vacuum to work again. Our Dyson is the BEST when it does work.

My DH was successful at FINALLY depositing his paycheck into our bank account. LOL He gets paid again in a few days. My DH also went to get our car smogged, oil changed, and our tail light fixed. He also picked up some draino for our bathroom sink. It’s been clogged for the last week and a half or so. After this, I plan on using baking soda and white vinegar once a week to keep our drains clean. I did have a blast using baking soda all over the house to clean! It’s cleaner, safe for the environment, safe to use around my son, and really does work.

We got the Walmart ad in the mail today and I was really surprised to see Walmart encouraging their customers to go green to save the environment and save money.

Tomorrow we have to go to DMV -- fun… I am SO excited about this too… Not really, the DMV’s here in NV are really organized. I’ve never had to wait longer than an hour or less… Plus they have a DMV Express near our house that we can go to. I have to renew my license, just need to change some info. We also have to go grocery shopping tomorrow! I AM excited about this because I have some new recipes to try!

Our DS ended up taking 2 baths this evening! I won’t go into details as to WHY, but he really did need the second one. My husband even had to take a shower too. But the whole situation was very funny!
