Early morning message

We received a call from an anonymous caller this morning at 1:15 AM.  It woke both Shannon and I up!

As we listened to the message, I realized that I want to record it to post on youtube!  I feel bad for the woman and I hope she finds the guy.  I just hope she didn't give out OUR number to the authorities.

She obviously has the wrong number.

Rookie Flyer

For as long as Shannon and I have known each other, we never had to fly in an airplane. We have both flown in an airplane before, however, it's been several years! I think the last time I had to fly was in 1997.

Shannon told the story of his experience going through security on the way home, and it sounded like he raised a ton of red flags with TSA! It was funny to hear because he sounded like a "rookie flyer." First, he put his laptop bag on the conveyor belt at the security checkpoint and the TSA agent asked him about having a lock on the bag. He asked if he needed one and she said that there are "TSA approved" locks that he can buy. He asked her if it was required that he have on because "it's not like it's going to blow open, right?" I guess she kind of raised her eye brows at that but didn't say anything. Then he asked her how he can get to Gate A (he was at Gate C). She asked him why and he told her that he had some friends he wanted to meet up with. As he's telling us the story, I am thinking he must be raising all these red flags with her, he's saying all the things a possible terrorist could say! LOL I am just glad he didn't say the B-O-M-B word in an airport! I can't imagine what the would have done to him then... After he asked her about how to get to Gate A, that's when she pulled him aside to say that he would need additional screening! LOL

That's Odd!

Back in early February, I sent Shannon's resume and cover letter to a company for a hotel manager position. The "area operations manager" called about 10 minutes after receiving his resume. This is the same woman that stood him up TWICE for a phone interview!!! By the third day, we received an email from the "regional director" asking if he was still interested and said he would have the "area operations manager" contact him. So the lady calls him later that afternoon apologizing and claiming she was busy and some other crap! She ends up rescheduling the phone interview for later that same day. She actually called and ended the conversation saying, "plan to move." A few days later, she emails Shannon saying they decided to go in a different direction. WTF?

Well, I went to look for jobs tonight and HER position is now posted!!!! hahahahahahahahaha LOL I sent Shannon's resume in to the "regional director" so hopefully he (or she) will call or email! I told Shannon this tidbit and we both think she may have been fired or she got overwhelmed and quit? Maybe the company realized she's a FLAKE and doesn't FOLLOW THROUGH!?

All I gotta say is... It's called KARMA!

I just saw this story on yahoo: Obama takes presidential oath — again.

Whew! Thank goodness they did this, because otherwise I would NOT be able to go on another day! NOW, I can sleep!

We witnessed History in the Making!

Shannon and I watched history in the making today as Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States!

Shannon and I watched the inauguration together. I have never watched an inauguration so it was a little exciting, plus I had my family there to share it with. When Aretha Franklin started singing, Kyle ran over to the couch and sat there listening to her sing. While Shannon and I were watching, Kyle ran and played around the house doing his thing.

There were a few funny moments, including the mess up with the oath! There were also a few instances where Obama was sitting down to sign papers, he went to try to twist the pen open, and then he he stood up and smiled some more. Then they gave him more papers to sign, to which he had to sit back down. Later, they were presenting him with a flag and he went to reach for it and the person turned around and left! LOL It's so funny to see these flubs! Didn't they walk him through what would be happening and how to react?

I don't mean to sound heartless but...

My husband and I were watching the news tonight and we saw this story.

So we're sitting there watching the story on tv and I notice a nice flat screen tv in the background, I don't really know if it's a plasma or an LCD, I wouldn't really know the difference. I even make a comment to my husband saying, "damn, look at the flat screen tv!" Then the camera turns back to the woman and she says, "I'm on a fixed income and I budget for his doctors and his medication and $90 is not a lot to some people, but it’s the principle,” (This is quoted in the news story as well). Fixed income my ass! LOL

Okay, so it's not my place to judge, it's not my business what she spends her money on. But to use her words, "it's principle." If you are going to go on CAMERA and complain about the cost of medication, why don't you stop showing off your damn TV... on tv!

Hey, we're on a very LOW income budget and WE don't have a flat screen tv. I wish we had her "fixed income."

And no, I am not bitter, just surprised at her audacity to complain on TV!

Shannon received an advertisement in the mail for a local OB/GYN’s office! LOL Well, at least one of us is receiving this information! I’d love to see them take him as a patient.

My husband’s name

Since we've been together, my husband and I have had several funny incidents with his name. My husband’s name is Shannon and everyone has assumed that it was MY name. For instance, at hotels and casinos, at a hair salon, on the phone, etc. At a restaurant, when they ask for a name, I usually give them my name because we just want to avoid confusion with the hostess. My husband and I take this all in stride and usually laugh about it afterwards.

Today, I just got a phone call asking for Ms. Shannon F----. Well first, this person called our home number, and NOBODY knows this number except my parents, and our friends in Las Vegas. I was a little rude with her because the bitch was like "Heyyyyy" when I answered, like I should know her voice. It was the type of "heyyyyy" you would say to a friend. Then she paused for a few seconds and then I asked her, "Can I help you?" Anyway, I ended up telling her there is no such person as Ms. Shannon. Which is true in this household. She didn’t give me a chance to tell her why, she just said “ok, thanks” and hung up. LOL

I lost my spell checker...

Everyday I search many different job sites. Anyway, I happen to open up a job ad that caught my eye… As I read the Job Requirements, I start laughing out loud (because it’s so funny). So I had my DH read it too and he noticed right off too.

Here is it:

Job Requirements:
Prior managment experience in a resort or hotel setting.
Service oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Gook computer skills.
Knowledge of hospitality industry operations including timeshare, hotel and reservations.
Ability to effectively handle several tasks simultaneously.

As I write this blog, I realize that there are 2 typos! LOL Anyway, I got a laugh out of this job posting, and I hope you did too!
