This was definitely a long week, or at least it felt like it. I hated that Shannon had to go out of town for training. However, in the end, the "certificate" will look good on his resume. He will receive a "certificate of completion" but there are more hours he needs to complete before he receives an official certification. He came home early on Wednesday, Thursday and today.
He goes back to work tonight. We hope he will be given more hours this week since he went about two weeks without very many extra hours.
This week, I stocked up on toilet paper from Walgreens. Their store brand (Nice!) was on sale for 2 (6 rolls) for $5! Plus, you earned 250 points when you bought 2. 250 Points = $0.25. Which equals to $2.38 each. I ended up buying 2 on Wednesday and went back on Thursday and bought 2 more. The rolls looks like Charmin too. We have a pack of Angel Soft (a name brand) and the rolls look so small compared to the Nice! brand.
Every Friday of this month, we had to pack a lunch for Kyle. It seems they are practicing/participating in the Special Olympics! The first two weeks was basketball and (I think) bowling. This week was track & field. This morning, I could tell Kyle wasn't feeling good. He was coughing, but he seemed well enough to go to school. Today he came home and he's coughing more. I think it will be a long weekend of him getting better. Hopefully he will be better by Monday because next week is a short week. He is off Thursday and Friday and the rest of the week after that for Spring Break.
Earlier this week, it seemed I received at least 4 or 5 boxes a day! That only happened Monday and Tuesday. By the end of the week, it was less boxes. I am receiving so many pitches for skin care products that I am adding a reviewer to my blog. Thankfully, the person I added is already a fellow blogger, so I am excited. She also does reviews and I told her she could do the reviews on both her blog and mine!
What is Crunchy? "Green;" environmentally-friendly. I love green cleaning and making my own laundry soap!
His First Visit To His New School
Kyle starts school in just a few days! He will be starting 6th grade at a brand new school, in a new school district.

More review products
Over the holidays, my pitches and package deliveries were pretty dry. I barely received any pitches from PR companies wanting me to review their products. I also did not receive any new packages.
Today, I received a total of 4 packages. One of the packages contained my casserole dish. The other three are products that I need to review. I still have a few more reviews to do. I keep a list of products that need to be reviewed and write them in the order I receive them. Today, I received the Soda Stream, lip balm, and skin care products to review.

Cookbook
I "bought" a vegetarian cookbook from Amazon today. I also "bought" a bar of soap to use on my face to help with the occasional pimples that I get! BOO to pimples! My order was free since I've been saving my gift cards that I have earned from Swagbucks. Anyway, I am excited to receive my cookbook, it has overwhelmingly positive reviews and it seems like a great way to cook on a budget! Plus, the book was just over $5! Most vegetarian books feature recipes that require rare or hard to find ingredients. This book seems perfect for us and our lifestyle!
Kyle has his Speech Therapy evaluation on Tuesday at 10am. After this appointment, he will be receiving Occupational and Speech Therapy once a week!

Catching up
Since we were approved for Medicaid for Kyle, I was able to schedule a doctor’s appointment for him at the end of this month. I am looking forward to this checkup for him.
Shannon was off yesterday and then he’s off tomorrow. He went to the store last night to get the other half of our groceries. He went earlier this week for groceries but only bought half of what we normally need. He also bought me a big box of envelopes so I am finally able to write my letters. I have about 10 more letters to write.
I placed an order from a company called L’Bri. They sell all natural products made with aloe vera as their first ingredient. Anyway, I received my order yesterday. I had gone to a home party for this company a few months ago and just started using the samples again last week. I loved the feeling of my skin so I bought the full size skin care set.
I seem to have a new obsession with aloe vera and it’s benefits. So far, my plant is still alive.

Green Cleaning
I’ve been doing some cleaning throughout the day today. I vacuumed, cleaned up our room and the bathroom. I scrubbed the tub, the sink and unclogged the drains. I did all the cleaning using baking soda, white vinegar, and a product by Shaklee. I like cleaning GREEN, rather than use chemicals. Most of the time, Kyle likes to follow me and I’d hate for him to breath in those chemicals. Plus the chemicals started to bother my lungs when I used them a few months ago. The “bleachy” smell was overpowering my lungs.
I am also doing a load of laundry today. I plan on doing a few more loads later this week.
This weekend was a a busy one. On Friday, I went to a skin care party with my mother-in-law. They invited 30 people and were expecting at least 3 or 4 other people. Well it was just the 3 of us, the hostess, my mother-in-law and myself. About an hour into the presentation, another person showed up. I ended up getting a sampler pack to try. I am impressed with the products and the ingredients. However, I am still going to remain faithful to Mineral Girlz with the makeup and some of the bath & body. Mineral Girlz first more into my budget anyway.
The hostess made a “dessert pizza” that was really good! On Saturday, my mother-in-law and I went to the store to buy the ingredients to make the dessert pizza. Shannon really liked it, but then again, he likes just about anything! We were at the store for about 2 hours and I ended up taking a power nap a few hours after we got home. I was so exhausted! On Sunday, we just relaxed and stayed home.

Skin Care Party
I went to a skin party with my mother-in-law tonight. It started at 6pm and we got there a little earl The hostess was telling us that they invited 30 people and they were expecting at least 4 other people. Well, it was just my mother-in-law and myself. Another woman showed up about an hour into the show. Apparently this is common out here… People make the commitment to be somewhere but they don’t show up. Or they make a promise to pay you back and don’t. Ironic, since everyone is so religious out here.
I am really impressed with the products, they are all natural. I was only able to purchase a sample pack but it’s a good start. It gives me a chance to at least try the products. I did see some products that I liked. I am very happy with my makeup products but I am willing to try other skin care products. I would surely consider purchasing more in the future. Hopefully I can after my husband is employed again.
We were at the party for about an hour and forty-five minutes! The hostess had a really big poodle but he was very friendly. He was like a child who wanted the attention. He was a really tall dog too! He was just like Sparky (my in-law’s dog), just as happy, excited and into everything. He just wants to know what you are doing and be by your side.
When we got home, Kyle was so happy to see me. He hadn’t seen me since 3pm because he fell asleep around then. He was very cuddly, followed me around, and just wanted to be near me. He definitely missed me. He kept looking at me as if he hadn’t seen me in days! It reminded me that I missed my little boy while I was gone. Although it was nice to be away too.
