Valentine's Day Cards

Today, I went to Walgreens to pick up a few things for Kyle's Valentine's Day "party" at school.  They asked for Valentine's Day cards, snacks and two bags of candy.  Last year, I didn't get Valentine's Day cards for Kyle's class.  This year, I realized that the kids deserve to receive a card!  Kyle's class only has 8 students (including him).  Since Valentine's Day cards comes in packs of 32, I made a card for each of the students, plus his three teachers!  I will be saving the rest of the cards for next year.

I wanted to get more goodies for the kids, but with such short notice, I decided to stick with what I already bought at Walgreens.

Shannon and I went to Walmart this afternoon for groceries.  Kyle also needed new socks, I just hope they aren't too big for him.  The medium size looked too small for his feet, so I bought the large size.

Shannon got called in to work tonight!  He has to work from 10pm until 6am.  The extra hours are needed!

I cleaned again

Kyle's teacher called this afternoon to let me know that next Monday there will no school but there is school on Tuesday.  Monday is a "school make up day" due to the snow a few weeks ago.  She also said they are doing something with teddy bears next week, so I need to send Kyle to school with a teddy bear.  LOL  I don't think we have a teddy bear, so we'll have to buy one.

A few days ago, I ended up buying Valentine's Day cards for Kyle's class, so I need to ask the teacher for a list of the student's names!  This should be fun to do, since I haven't done Valentine's Day cards in so long!

I ended up cleaning the bathroom again.  I did a quick clean of the bathroom, floor, wiped the toilet and cleaned the sink!  I love using white vinegar and baking soda and there are no toxic fumes to worry about.

I am also going to try to make homemade shampoo using liquid castile soap.  I found a few recipes that I want to try.  The same recipe can also be used on our skin since it's all natural. I also plan on using it in Kyle's bath.  Hopefully this will help our dry skin, Kyle's eczema, and prevent staticy hair!

First Day on the Bus!

Today was Kyle's first day riding the school bus to school! I was nervous that he would get scared and/or freak out! He woke up pretty quickly as usual, especially since I told him it's a school day! He just loves going to school. I got him dressed and ready to go. I walked him to the bus stop, which is just down the street. He was just fine with the walk because he knew he had his school clothes, jacket, and backpack on. I asked kept singing, "we're going to school, we're going to school..." I also kept reminding him that "we're going to see Ms. Pam (his teacher)." When the bus pulled up, he got scared and tried to walk away. To him, the bus must be HUGE and it's a loud vehicle! I think the noise scared him, if anything. I lifted him up on the first step (since it's about 2 feet off the ground) and helped him up to the second step and into the helper's reach.

This afternoon, Kyle's teacher called to let us know what time to pick him up from the bus stop. She said the bus driver said that he did really well on the bus. He didn't cry either! He was just fine! I am so glad he adjusted so well to riding the bus, as it is a brand new experience for him!

When it was time to meet him at the bus stop, my MIL walked down the street with me. She brought her digital camera and took a few pics of Kyle getting off the bus. Apparently, Kyle fell asleep on the way home on the bus! These were taken just after he woke up to get off the bus!

Kyle came home with Valentine's Day goodies! He made a few Valentine's at school! They are really cute! Both are in a heart-shaped! One of them is decorated with buttons and glitter. The other has his handprint in the middle, decorated with glitter! Both are adorable! He also has Valentine's candy, which I will be raiding (he's too young to have that much candy). I feel bad I didn't get Valentine's cards for Kyle's classmates. I forgot what it's like being in elementary school, I remember exchanging Valentine's cards with my entire class!

Pampering Time

Valentine’s Day is next week and I am in the pampering mood. I really do need to relax and spoil myself. I know that we won’t be celebrating so I am spoiling myself, for which I truly deserve!

I got paid from a few of my sites, so I bought some candles yesterday from my new home business. By far, they offer the lowest prices on soy candles that I have seen. Plus they have been online for some time now, and have many happy consultants and customers.

I just checked my balance on one of my sites and I had enough to redeem for a $25 gift card from Bath & Body Works. I haven’t had a product from that store in so long. The last time I recall, Shannon bought my first Christmas gift there. It was our very first Christmas together. He bought me a big beautiful gift basket of everything they had in Vanilla! It was so cute that he bought me a Christmas gift that year, because we had only been dating for a little over a month. I also bought him some gifts that year. I remember I bought him a watch, which he still wears to this day. I also bought him an alarm clock. At the time, he really did need a new one. I still don’t know for sure what I want to get with the gift card. But it will be fun to “shop” for myself, as I barely get to do.

I already have some bath and body goodies, so I plan on using all of them on Valentine’s Day. I hope to take some time by myself and relax. I don’t expect to receive my candles before then, but if I do, that would be great too. I love burning candles and I definitely miss it!
