We got the apartment!

We are approved for the new apartment!  I am looking forward to lower rent, more space and a full size washer and dryer.  However, I am not looking forward to changing our address with our banks, utilities, etc.  Also, Kyle will have to switch schools.  Hopefully he can finish out the school year at his current school, rather than start at a new school with just a few weeks left by the time we move.

She asked for our move in date and I told her “sometime in May.”  I also asked for a bottom floor and she quickly assigned us one.  It sounded like they have plenty of apartments open, so I am really glad we were able to get a bottom floor.  She also gave me our address!  I have the numbers and apartment number but no street name.  I am sure we can find it within the complex.
I received a new book to read and review.  I am looking forward to reading it.  It's about a teenager girl who "goes vintage" as in 1962.  It looks like an interesting read!

New Year's Eve

I can't believe today is the last day of 2011!  Although, that means tomorrow is my 9th Wedding Anniversary

I am looking forward to the New Year!  I just started a new project.  I am organizing virtual book tours for authors.  Since I love to read and review books, I decided to do this.

I am still unsure if I should go back to college at this time.  I am loving what I am doing now with organizing book tours.  This allows me to be a stay at home mom and earn a little extra income.

8 Days

Today is our 8th day in our new apartment!  We seem to have a nice routine down.  Next week, we're going to stop by the Exceptional Children's department at the school district to drop off some paperwork.  I finally heard back from the lady I was waiting to hear back from.  She wants a copy of his latest IEP so she can determine what services Kyle will need.

Since we've been in our new apartment, I have read two books!  I have one more book to read and write a review for.  I am so glad I am almost caught up.  I am really enjoying reading books and doing reviews.  I am still doing product reviews too.  Since we moved, I've been working on catching up on my reviews and also trying to do all of the cleaning, laundry, changing our information, and just making sure everything is caught up and taken care of.

Shannon took our car in to get fixed and we finally got it back yesterday!  Shannon said it runs like new!  In addition, they fixed the interior lights and the electrical on the inside so now our clock works and our radio stations can be programmed again.  The lock works to where we could probably use the alarm clicker again.  Shannon has to manually use the car key to open the driver side door and then unlock each door manually.  Our final bill was over $1400!  We eventually want to get the car re-painted because there is rust on the top of the car.  We also want to get it reupholstered, eventually.

This week, Kyle started saying "pee pee."  He likes sitting on the potty (with all of his clothes on) but now he likes saying "pee pee" and then one of us takes him to the potty.  He still likes to sit with his clothes on or he'll pull down his pants.  We'll have to get him pull ups and try it that way...

More FREE stuff from Amazon!

Thanks to a survey site I belong to, I was able to make another purchase from Amazon.  I have been a member of a particular survey site for a few years now!  As a member, I earn points for every survey I complete and after a few years, I had over 4000 points saved up.  The site finally added better prizes and I redeemed my points for Amazon gift cards!  I was able to gain $35 worth of Amazon gift cards!  My Amazon order came out to over $32 (including shipping) and my order didn't cost me a penny!  I ordered the hardcover book set of Twilight Collector's Edition (The Twilight Saga) and another Turbo Jam workout DVD to add to my collection. I am looking forward to receiving my goodies!  I have yet to read the books, but have seen the movie Twilight.  Based on the book reviews, everyone loves them and they read the entire set within a few days. I am excited about adding another Turbo Jam DVD to my workouts, I love Turbo Jam so much.

Came home to a call back!

Today was our weekly laundry day!  I ended up doing 4 loads of laundry: dark clothes, white clothes, towels, and sheets!  Hooray for clean clothes!  Hooray for clean sheets!  After we had all of our laundry in the washing machines, my MIL and I sat down and she (jokingly) said that I should be wearing my wedding ring.  I laughed and said that Shannon and I both don't wear ours.  She said that all the guys in the laundromat were staring at me with their tongues hanging out!  I did notice that some of them were looking at me, but when that happens, I usually pretend I don't notice.  I guess it was so noticeable that the guy who works at the laundromat made a comment to my MIL!  LOL

We stopped by the library after our laundry was done.  My MIL checks out DVD movies each week.  They had some books for sale, so I ended up buying a hardcover book that looked like an interesting read to me.  The book was only $1!

When we got home, I put our clean clothes away and had a salad!  Yum!  Then I needed something sweet so I ended up having 2 chocolate pudding cups!  LOL

I also noticed there was a message on the phone and it turned out I received a call back!  I re-applied for Sears just yesterday and they wanted me to come in to interview!  I had applied to Sears before and my application expired over the weekend, so I had to reapply!  I set up my interview for this Wednesday at 2pm!  The lady who called me sounds like she doesn't mess around.  She asked me what my availability is.  She then confessed she's had too many people say things like, "Oh, I can't work nights." Or, "I can't work such and such time."  I told her I have open availability, I just don't want to come in at 6am and leave at 11pm, that sort of thing.  She said, "oh no, we don't have shifts like that."  So, we'll see how this goes.

New Twilight Fan!

I had a chance to watch Twilight on cable yesterday! ShowTime is having a "free weekend" and they happened to be showing Twilight. When I watched it the first time, I started 41 minutes into the movie. It came on a few hours later, so I finally saw the entire movie. I watched it again today!

I never "jumped on" the bandwagon before, so I never understood what all the hoopla was about. But now I know. Now that I am a new fan, I can't wait to read the books and get the posters!

New Books!

Kyle now has new books to play with and look through. His grandma bought some books from a used children's clothing store. The books were between 25 cents and 50 cents. There are many different kinds of books, different sizes, different themes. I was surprised that he seems to recognize a Barney book. Whenever I see Barney on, I turn it on for Kyle. He'll watch it here and there, but it doesn't seem to be a favorite show of his.

Been too long

I finally received my 2 free books from harlequin! It took longer than expected because they had my old address on file, thankfully they had books leftover and were able to send me the books! I am so happy that they are here and I get to start reading again! All I had to do was join their panel and they send you free books based on your profile.

Kyle starts speech therapy tomorrow afternoon! I am excited to get this going! I don't know how it works but every parent who has a child in speech therapy says the kids are talking! I can't wait to hear my son's voice and hear about what he's thinking about or wants to tell us.

2 Free books

I just received an email from Harlequin saying that they are sending me two special edition books! I have to read them and fill out a survey about my opinions of both books! A few months ago, I joined Tell Harlequin panel, they send you free books based on your profile. I am excited and can't wait to read these books. I really haven't had a chance to sit down to read in so long.
