Still sick or sick again...

Kyle is still sick or sick again.  He pretty much stayed in bed all day today.  His daddy came home around 7:30am or so because he worked the graveyard shift.  Shannon stayed up with us until about 9am-9:30am.  Kyle went to lay down with him and ended up staying in bed/sleeping the entire time.  Kyle was coughing throughout the day.  He won't drink water or take medicine.

Since Kyle was sick in bed, I was able to get a lot accomplished.  I was able to post several reviews and do two loads of laundry.

I hope he's better by Monday morning because I would hate for him to miss more school.

To Walmart We Went

Shannon and I went to Walmart this afternoon before Kyle got home from school.  We needed to buy a fan for our room.  Kyle's been unable to sleep as well through the night because it is hot!  Since Kyle isn't sleeping as well, we are suffering too from him being up!  The air conditioner is on, but with our room upstairs, it is still hot!  The last few nights, he'll wake up with a sweaty head!  Last night his whole entire body was hot.  Shannon had to remove his pajamas just to cool him off.  I also wanted to buy Kyle some shorts and short sleeved shirts for him to sleep in.  We picked out 4 shirts and 4 short pants that can be mixed between each other and they can be worn outside or to bed.

This week, Kyle has been crazy for boca burger patties in a hamburger bun!  So I bought more 100% whole wheat hamburger buns and boca burger patties.  We needed more goldfish crackers because Kyle loves them so much.

I also bought one more pot for some of my plants, I wanted to transplant them into soil.  I think these plants will thrive in soil.  My plants that are in the Miracle Gro soil already are doing really well!

After we were done shopping at Walmart, we stopped through McDonald's and ate at home.  It is always nice to go "out" without Kyle!  It's odd, but it's nice to have some alone time.

What a Day!

Last week I bought melatonin for Shannon.  He would always have trouble falling asleep.  He would stay up for a few hours just laying in bed.  His mom takes melatonin to fall asleep and plus it's all natural.  He's been taking it all this week and he falls right to sleep!  I tried it the first night with him and it relaxes your body to where you feel like you are glued to the bed.  I think it's a little too strong for me because it made me tired the next day and into the night.  It actually didn't help me STAY asleep, I woke up a few times throughout that night.  So, now he's sleeping better!

We went to Walmart this afternoon.  We bought our normal groceries.  I also bought a few more pots for my plants and also some potting mix.  This time around, I bought "miracle gro" brand potting mix.  In the past, I always bought another brand.  Hopefully "miracle gro" is as good as it's commercials say it is.  When we got home, I potted up the plants into more permanent homes (in their new pots).

At the last minute, I picked up a 3 pack of air freshener product by Renuzit.  When I was working as a cashier, I always saw people buying this particular product and wanted to try it.  I bought "after the rain" scent.  I have one in our bathroom, one in our bedroom, and one in Shannon's office/computer room/man cave.  Since I don't want to burn my soy candles upstairs (especially around Kyle), I figure why not try an air freshener like this!  I am not a fan of the spray air fresheners because all of the chemicals and Renuzit says they use 97% natural ingredients.

I can't believe it's Friday already.  That means Kyle goes back to school on Monday!  This week has been a great for us, we've had time to recharge and Kyle had a chance to get better from being sick.

He's Home Day 1

Shannon arrived home this morning around 2:30 AM! I was able to track his flight online and I saw that it was delayed. Both flights were delayed by at least an hour or more. He had to wait around at least 2 hours for his connecting flight home. I am just glad he got home okay. I woke up when he got home, since I am still sick and my dripping nose would wake me up throughout the night. We cuddled and talked for a bit before we both realized he needed to go to sleep!

Kyle woke up this morning around 7 AM and Shannon slept in a bit. We had a nice quiet day spending time with each other. I did Shannon's laundry today since I had some things to wash too. He has to go back to work on Monday and will stay on property for the week. At least this time he will be in another city! While he's there, he hopes to look at apartments and pick up rental applications.

We had to go grocery shopping today since we were almost out of food and other things. Kyle rode in the booster seat for the first time and he seemed okay with it. It's not as sturdy as the car seat so he would lean over to one side to look out the window and the booster seat would lean to one side too.

We ended up getting plenty of food! I did manage to make it out of the store without buying candy! I know for sure that if I buy it, I will eat it, and the end result shows up on my face in a few days! I did, however, buy snack foods! Every once in awhile I need snacks to munch on! I picked up plastic planter pots for two of my plants, I will pick up soil on our next trip. We also needed cotton balls, paper towels, and toilet paper. Even before we left, I warned Shannon that this trip will be a big one! I had a lot of things on my list that we needed, so I knew that the total would be extra $$$! We are no longer on food stamps, so it hurts a little. I do plan on re-applying for food stamps once we get moved in to our own place.

Shannon and I realized that 12 days was way too long to be away from home. I could tell that he got home sick.

Waiting for my Day Off

Not much has been going on here. The last few days have been 4 hour shifts at work. Yesterday I didn't have to work until 6 PM! I did laundry since I had so much time to kill! I also ended up taking a nap a few hours before I had to go in. I do like working in the evening but our day just drags on when I have to wait that long until I have to go in. I am off tomorrow and I am looking forward to it.

The last two nights, Kyle has gone to bed all by himself. He just crawls in bed and covers himself with the covers and goes to sleep. It's so cute. We're just glad he knows he can do that.

The school district called last week to schedule Kyle's full evaluation for this coming Friday at 8:15 AM. Unfortunately it's a bit too early for us, so I am going to call them to see if we can get a later time, if not, we'll just have to drag ourselves in. I also want to ask them if this will be an all day thing or at least find out how long it will be. I am not sure if I need to bring snacks in for Kyle or not.

Body Spray Miracle?

I have some lavender and chamomile body spray that I bought a few months ago from Avon. I originally bought it for Shannon because he was having trouble falling asleep. I was going to have him use it, to spray around the room to help him relax and wind down. He never got around to using it! LOL

I started using this two nights ago for Kyle. I spray it all around the room and on the bedding. It really seems to calm him down and he falls asleep soon after! So far it's been working, so I have no complaints and so glad that I bought it!

Crazy Bedtimes

Every evening, Kyle seems to fall asleep at different times. It's a little difficult for us to forecast our evenings, since that is our only "free time." Shannon usually does his school work, that way he can concentrate without having to worry about Kyle.

I thought about using homeopathic remedies for Kyle to help calm him down at night because he doesn't seem sleepy at all in the evenings. I did a search yesterday and found Night Night Balm! I can't wait to try it on Kyle, I really hope it works!

I chose to use a balm, instead of liquid herbs because I can't guarantee Kyle will actually take liquid drops. Balm seemed to be the most convenient choice for a 3 year old!

Heavy Fog

I woke up this morning at 4 AM because I couldn't breathe and also because it was freezing cold! I had to use my asthma inhaler a least twice. I decided to get an over the counter inhaler, instead of going to a clinic. I am still waiting on my homeopathic asthma medicine to arrive, it won't be here til next week.

I didn't feel like going back to sleep so I ended up logging in to work! I was able to make the rest of my daily minimum in about an hour! It was nice to work without any interruptions from Kyle! The second hour I was up, I was just searching the internet, checking emails, and clicking on my PTC sites.

I woke up again around 9:30 AM when Kyle woke me up. I went to open the window shades and all I saw was fog! Very thick fog. By noon, the fog was gone and Kyle was able to go outside. It was a nice day today. It was a hot earlier, but it has since cooled off.

Shannon went to Walmart and bought a few more food items that we need, as well as my over the counter inhaler.

Exhausted and Frustrated

Shannon and I are exhausted and frustrated. Kyle went to bed around 9 PM or so, but then he woke up around 2 AM. We're not sure if it was because he was hot, we had to sleep with the window open because it was so hot. Anyway, he was fussy, frustrated, and having a tantrum. We finally turned on his cartoons on the Nick Jr. website. We had him watch Blue's Clues. I woke around 5:30 AM long enough to turn off the laptop and he was asleep! Kyle woke up around 9 AM and wanted to go right outside. I had him eat breakfast and then I had to get dressed super fast, just to take him outside.

Kyle's been tired all day today and having a tantrum for most of the day. So it's been even more frustrating for all of us. We are hoping he goes to bed early and stays asleep until morning.

Boxes and Bags

We are now living in boxes and bags. Our stuff is still packed and our clothes are still in our bags. It's just disorganized for me. I feel displaced. I hope we can have our own place again soon.

Kyle seems to be adjusting. He loves playing with the dog and loves to get kisses from him. He even tried getting kisses from the cat but she wasn't having anything to do with that. He had a tantrum last night at bedtime, hopefully he will understand soon.

We are still waiting to hear back about this last job interview he had on Thursday. In the meantime, I am still looking and sending out his resume and cover letter.

It's been raining all day today and yesterday! The rain is great but it would be nice to go outside. We heard it's supposed to snow, but still nothing yet.

Since it's been slow at work this last week I joined a few new PTC sites. Now I am torn between doing my PTC sites and working. I know I make a little more through work but my PTC sites are a habit of mine, so I want to get them all done and work. Today, I am trying to squeeze in work and PTC sites between watching Kyle.

Days off, Job Interview, and More

I joined facebook a few days ago. I am still getting used to it's features and where to find everything. Still not sure what it all means. But it's very fun and active. I can comment on my friends status, and have live chats with friends.

I ended up staying up until Shannon got home last night. This week, I haven't been sleeping very much or all that well, perhaps from stress and worries. Shannon also messed up my week! LOL Last week he said he had Wednesday and Thursday off, and it turns out he has Tuesday and Wednesday off instead! ARGH! At least I have my training for work on Wednesday! I don't want to schedule anything when I am home alone with my son, there are no guarantees that he won't need me for something. With that, I plan according to my husband's ever-changing schedule.

Anyway, something good may come to us! I have a feeling that it could be fate and perfect timing. Shannon and I have been looking for other jobs for him for the last few months. A few weeks ago, Shannon's Human Resources manager sent his resume to a "sister property" that was hiring for a manager position. That HR manager called Shannon asking if he was interested, etc. Shannon never called her back because it was for an "assistant" position and this property was in another state. So, a few weeks went by and Shannon gets an email from his HR manager, it was an email from the other HR manager asking if he was still interested! As Shannon is telling me this, I asked him why is he reconisidering this position. He said that he thinks it's odd that she's still looking to hire for this position after a few weeks went by. So he emailed her back last night. Of course, I am excited about all of this. But we also have to consider if they will pay for relocation. If not, we won't even move. The position listed on the website is for an "assistant manager" so we're not sure what that means. Shannon will have to clarify that with the HR lady. Hopefully he can set up a phone interview with her! This position is in Arkansas in a little city, he said it was a "blip" on the map. Shannon looked it up on google earth and he said it's near a big lake.

After he told me all this, I couldn't sleep so I stayed up til about 1:30 AM. LOL I ended up finishing up watching The Bachelor and Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Catching Up

The lack of sleep is catching up with me. I am ready to go to sleep and not wake up until tomorrow! But I can't, I have a 3 year old. LOL

It's been busy all day at work. I am going to train on a second platform on Wednesday. I chose either Wednesday or Thursday since that is Shannon's days off. I need to make sure Kyle won't interupt me while training. Once I finish that, I will be able to work 2 platforms at once. Hopefully make more money!

I am still looking for other texting jobs. I saw another company is hiring operators, so I sent an email out. I heard it's a really good company to work for, BUT it's really hard to get in. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Shannon is planning on getting the car fixed on one of his days off, which one, I couldn't tell you. Knowing him, he'll wait til Thursday night. Another inconvenience is that we have a car care center not too far from our house, he could easily WALK home, but there are NO SIDEWALKS and NO PEDESTRIAN stop lights! So he's thinking of walking over to Walmart which is on the same side of this place and not too far away.

Kyle falling asleep/New Plant

Kyle fell asleep in his own bed BY HIMSELF for the first time last night. We were both so amazed. Normally, one of us (usually me) had to be at his side when he fell asleep.

Kyle still isn’t talking yet, but we are both so eager for him to start. Shannon had met another mother at his work and her son was 3 ½. She had said her son didn’t start talking until around 2 ½. So we’re hoping this will happen for us. The last few days, Kyle has been trying to say many things. We just don’t know yet, but we both stop to listen.

I ordered a free plant (all I paid for was shipping) on my birthday and it arrived today. I ordered a baby aloe vera plant. I am nervous about it possibly dying on me because I did have an aloe vera before and that one died. But I have done my research on what type of conditions this plant needs. So I feel a little more confident with keeping this one alive. Shannon bought me a pot for it so I potted up my new plant tonight. I am actually proud of Shannon because he found a pot that was on clearance! LOL Plus I like it, it’s the type I would buy. I am new to cactus/drought tolerant type of plants so I am hoping I won’t kill this plant with love (over-watering).

My other plants are doing good. I have a handful of my spider plants in the kitchen, the light comes from the living room window. Only one side of our apartment has windows, so I don’t have many places to put plants. I have to keep my plants off the ground and out of reach from Kyle. My other plants are all in our third bedroom, which we use as our computer room.

Missing the Greens (it’s not what you think)

Since I had to leave my plants behind when we moved to the East Coast, I was really missing having so many plants to take care of. I only have two types of plants and I wanted more! I bought solid green spider plants from a lady on eBay. I found the lady I originally purchased from in 2005, and she was still selling plants. This time, I bought 20 rooted babies! I only paid a penny (plus shipping). I just got them today! I have them sitting in water for now. Once they get a little bigger, I plan on potting them up.

We bought a potty for Kyle! We chose our second choice of potty, instead of the first choice. Mainly because it’s only one piece and I didn’t want to deal with all the attachments and contraptions that come with it. Hopefully Kyle will like it! All of the parent reviews were positive for this product too. We’re still waiting for it to be delivered to the store so we can pick it up. Kyle is already showing interest too. He’s taken notice to (our) potty and wants to see how it all works and how we use it.

Kyle still isn’t sleeping as long as he used to, he usually gets up in the early morning. He doesn’t take naps anymore either and hasn’t for several months. Plus he’s having more tantrums that are more frequent. It’s a little difficult because he doesn’t talk and can’t tell us what he wants or needs.

I am still taking him on a walk everyday. We have to go mid-morning time because after 12pm, it’s even hotter and the humidity is horrendous. Thunderstorms are a weekly occurrence, which is funny because our area is on water restrictions!

“Think Think Think”

It’s about 1:15am as I type this. I tried laying down to go to sleep around midnight but kept thinking about what to buy tomorrow. We’re going grocery shopping tomorrow and I was thinking about what foods to get for Kyle. I realize I need to change his foods around and give him variety since his tastes change from time to time and I know the same thing can get boring. But my choices are limited because I am not much of a cook! LOL I have to think SIMPLE! I definitely have to change his breakfast and lunch foods around a bit. So I was thinking about all of the possibilities.

I also realized that we haven’t been giving Kyle any milk, just juice and water. So this time, we’re only giving him milk or water.

Shannon once pointed out to me that I never get enough food for myself. Since I am the one to think of Kyle's meals, I never have time to think about myself! So I was thinking of food choices for myself.

I also did some job searching online tonight. I found a few company websites as well as stumbled upon a local city job site. I found a city job that Shannon could apply for. I had a feeling he wouldn’t apply for this job because he’d have to fill out the application and mail it in and then take a test. I don’t think he’s privy to the hiring processes of county, city, and state agencies. Tonight, I had to tell him that he really should apply for a city job. I think he would do very well on the test and if he does, he would be the first group of people called for an interview or at least put on the top of the list. I even told him that I would fill out the application for him.

Instead of sleeping, I had to get up and tell him all of this and let him know what I was thinking about, it would put my mind at ease. I also had to tell him when we are going to go grocery shopping tomorrow because he always chooses a time and it doesn’t fit in with Kyle’s schedule, it’s always on HIS time.

Plus, I can’t sleep because I had a good hour nap today! LOL Okay, so now you know what is going on in my never ending mind.

Please, stop by my website, I try to update it as much as I can. I sell mineral makeup, soy candles, a variety of bath and body products! Visit: http://www.ItsYourTurn.go.cc
