Our beloved Dyson

I basically complained/explained to my DH today that I really want to buy a new vacuum, only because he’s said (for the last 3 weeks) that he “would take a look at it.” Since he never did, I am stuck vacuuming our house with the hose…and my back is hurting like H*LL! So he said he’d take a look at it today and he actually did. I even spent some time this morning looking at a variety of vacuums to buy! Anyway, he took the filter out and cleaned it. We have to let it dry before we can put it back in the vacuum to use… I am really hoping that it’s JUST the filter that needed to be washed for our vacuum to work again. Our Dyson is the BEST when it does work.

My DH was successful at FINALLY depositing his paycheck into our bank account. LOL He gets paid again in a few days. My DH also went to get our car smogged, oil changed, and our tail light fixed. He also picked up some draino for our bathroom sink. It’s been clogged for the last week and a half or so. After this, I plan on using baking soda and white vinegar once a week to keep our drains clean. I did have a blast using baking soda all over the house to clean! It’s cleaner, safe for the environment, safe to use around my son, and really does work.

We got the Walmart ad in the mail today and I was really surprised to see Walmart encouraging their customers to go green to save the environment and save money.

Tomorrow we have to go to DMV -- fun… I am SO excited about this too… Not really, the DMV’s here in NV are really organized. I’ve never had to wait longer than an hour or less… Plus they have a DMV Express near our house that we can go to. I have to renew my license, just need to change some info. We also have to go grocery shopping tomorrow! I AM excited about this because I have some new recipes to try!

Our DS ended up taking 2 baths this evening! I won’t go into details as to WHY, but he really did need the second one. My husband even had to take a shower too. But the whole situation was very funny!

I lost my spell checker...

Everyday I search many different job sites. Anyway, I happen to open up a job ad that caught my eye… As I read the Job Requirements, I start laughing out loud (because it’s so funny). So I had my DH read it too and he noticed right off too.

Here is it:

Job Requirements:
Prior managment experience in a resort or hotel setting.

Service oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Gook computer skills.
Knowledge of hospitality industry operations including timeshare, hotel and reservations.
Ability to effectively handle several tasks simultaneously.

As I write this blog, I realize that there are 2 typos! LOL Anyway, I got a laugh out of this job posting, and I hope you did too!

Naked Minerals

I’ve been using Naked Minerals for the last few days and it’s okay. It is like they say on the commercial. You can’t tell you have makeup on, it’s very lightweight too. Overall, it’s great, but I already use another brand of mineral makeup! I will probably use this when we go out or if we happen to go on a trip. It comes in a nice compact. Plus it’s pressed powder, so it doesn’t get all over the place or I don’t have to worry about it spilling out. It came with a nice kabuki brush that is so soft, very nice quality.

But I prefer the following mineral makeup companies:

I GOT A GOOD MAN!

We went grocery shopping today. I warned my DH that this trip will a longer than usual, so he wouldn’t RUSH me - like he ALWAYS does. I bought some baking soda. I’ve been wanting to try it since I can use it for cleaning and in our laundry! It’s also nice to have FOOD in the house again. I also bought some fruit! I just love fruit.

Our DS was well behaved as usual. On the way there, he started to get a little fussy so I gave him a little bottle of lotion that I keep in my purse, so that kept him busy.

On the way out of the parking lot, DH saw a couple he used to work with. Anyway, the husband has bragged about cheating on his wife and apparently still is with another person he works with. DH and I got into a conversation about cheating. He said that he doesn’t have the TIME for it and it’s not worth all the trouble! LOL He’s the type, he’d rather come home and play video games, rather than hang out with some chick…I mean SLUT! LOL I already knew that I could trust my DH 100% and NOT worry about him cheating on me. It’s nice knowing that he never really has the URGE to cheat on me either. He’s so lazy, he wouldn’t have the energy to cheat on me. LOL

Unexpected

It looks like our vacuum is working again… I guess she just needed a rest. I am really glad when she started this afternoon. I decided to give it a try since I didn’t really want to bother buying a new one or getting it fixed. This is a Dyson vacuum, so I thought it would be a lasting product. I have to use her daily because we have a dog and he likes to shed, just to bug me. LOL

There are also a few doctor bills I had to pay this month totaling over $330!

Vacuum Went Kaput!

Our vacuum died today. I could tell it was getting close. The suction wasn’t as good and the hose was barely sucking… We’ve had this vacuum for almost 2 years so I am sad that it died. DH said he’d take a look at it later… I really hope it’s salvageable.

Personal Time

I've been catching up on letters and yahoo groups. I wrote 4 pen pal letters yesterday! They were all letters I received in the early part of July. I never used to wait that long to respond to letters but since stamps are so expensive, I've been taking a little longer. Plus, Kyle takes up most of my time.

I hope to switch to earth/environmentally friendly cleaning products very soon. As soon as my current cleaning supplies are out, I will be switching! I am looking into making my own cleaning products but I don't know if I could do it.

Our son turns 19 months old tomorrow! Wow! The time sure does fly by with him. He is eating more these days. Also, he hasn't really been taking naps for almost a week. I wonder if it's because of the heat or because he's getting older. He still sleeps all through the night, but he does wake up at night -- most likely from the heat.

We just got another big bag full of clothes for our DS so I need to go through it soon.
