Still not 100%

Kyle still isn't feeling 100% better.  He seems to be okay for a bit and then he's feels tired.  His appetite hasn't fully returned either.

Flu = one week of school

We are pretty sure Kyle has the flu, based on his symptoms. Plus, he's been feeling sick since Sunday! He missed this entire week of school and next week he is off on Spring Break.

Having him home has thrown my schedule off as well. Normally, I would work on my school work while Kyle is at school. I've done the best I can to get my workouts in and do my school work. I did have to skip a few days of exercise because I was feeling so sore!

I also bought some protein powder to make shakes after my workouts. I did a search looking for help with boosting my energy. I looked on Dr. Oz's website and found an article that listed things I could try. So I bought a natural herbal supplement to try. I wanted something to help me get through a long day and be able to do school at night after Kyle has gone to bed.

I just hope I can continue school in the summer when Kyle is home all day.

Sick before Spring Break

Kyle has been sick since Sunday. We kept him home from school yesterday and today. He's been coughing through the night so he has a sore throat. He can barely keep chicken soup down. He won't take cold medicine but we do have some that comes in a powder form.

I hope he can go back to school tomorrow or sometime this week since he's off of school next week for Spring Break.

Last week of first class

I'm in my last week of my first class in college.  It's a psychology course.  Ashford University wants to ease students back in to college so this class is about learning about yourself and the college rules.

I am pretty much done with this class as I have done my discussion requirements for the week and I turned in my final paper today.  Right now, I have a 93.17% which equals an A according to the grading scale.
However, my grade could change to an A- after the last week's grades are in.  Either way, I will be happy with an A!

Changed again

I just noticed that my graduation date has changed again! A few days ago, my graduation date was stating May 2014 and now it's February 2014!!! That's even better! About two years from the month I first started college!

It's been a good Friday

This morning I found out that my graduation date is about two years sooner than they had originally had me scheduled for because my transcripts have been applied.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now and it's not too far!

I also received my rough draft of my paper back from the Teacher's Assistant and he gave me great feedback on my paper to make it better.  He also complimented me on my writing and said I had a well structured paper.  Looks like my Honors English class back in high school really played a huge part, even though it's been over a decade since I've been in high school!  My final paper is due next week and today I changed my paper based on his feedback.

I am all caught up for school for this week so I have the rest of the weekend to relax and not worry about school.  Next week is the last week of the class and it doesn't look too difficult!

This afternoon, my Corelle dinnerware set arrived!  They are so pretty and lightweight which is a huge difference from our current set.

Aside from everything above, we ended up keeping Kyle home from school today.  He was looking like he wasn't feeling well the last few days and this early this morning (around 3:30am) he threw up!  He then threw up this morning and this evening!

2 years sooner

What a relief!  I just logged in to my online college and saw that they updated my expected graduation date!  It is now 2 years sooner than before!  I have 2 years and 2 months to go until I earn my Bachelor's Degree!

A few days ago, I asked my admissions counselor about my transcripts to make sure they will be applied and it was just updated today.

Our bills

This weekend, I made the decision to call our cable/internet/phone provider and our auto/renter's insurance company about lowering our bills.

I just got off the phone with our cable/internet/phone provider and they were able to lower our bill.  Our current bill is a little over $127 a month and they were able to lower it to $113 a month for the next 6 months.  He gave us free DVR service for 6 months as a special promotion (I think it's a great way to offer to their current customers to keep them as customers).

I just have to call back in 6 months (May) to make sure we keep our DVR service on.

I was going to call our auto/renter's insurance company but the cordless phone was low on battery.  I plan on calling tomorrow.

Corelle Dishes

The other day, I was finally able to purchase a set of Corelle Dinnerware on Amazon.  My order came to $0.  Even the shipping was free.  I used my Amazon gift cards to pay for the entire order!  I can't wait to get our new dinnerware set.  The dishes we have now have lasted us over 9 years (my in-laws bought them for us shortly after we got married).  Unfortunately, some of our dishes are chipped and some pieces are missing because they broke over the years.  I'm tired of having dishes that chip and break.

The above picture is the set that I chose!  I chose blue and green because they are our favorite colors, Shannon likes blue and I like green.

Getting back on track

I am determined to get back on track. I am starting Turbo Fire after taking about a month off from it. During that time, I was doing Turbo Jam. I quickly realized Turbo Jam doesn't give me the same results as Turbo Fire. I am starting with the PREP schedule, which seemed to work best for me. I started the workout program today and I am not feeling sluggish by the afternoon time. I've been going to bed by 7pm or 8pm. There were days I would take an afternoon nap too.

Home from Disney

It took 12 hours for us to get home yesterday from Disney World! Once we arrived home, I unpacked and Shannon helped put our things back. I did squeeze in one load of laundry before we went to bed. Kyle was ready for school today. He knew exactly what to do and his normal routine. Shannon and I went grocery shopping at Walmart while Kule was still in school. It's easier since he's not there to grab snacks and junk food to put in the cart. Shannon and I bought more fruits and veggies too! We're trying to make healthier choices. For this week, I have most of my school work completed. I need to work on my assignment which is a rough draft of my paper. I also have to re-read the chapter so I can take the quiz!

Being prepared

When I was packing for Disney World, I packed paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning spray. The hotel we're staying at has a little kitchen and I wanted to be prepared. The cleaning spray I use is all natural, made by Shaklee. Kyle ended up getting car sick soon after we arrived at the hotel. We hadn't checked in yet and he threw up in the car (we were just getting out of the car). Luckily, I brought my cleaner and had paper towels because I cleaned up any trace of the mess!

10 hour drive to Disney World

On Friday, we planned to leave at 5am for Disney World!  We ended up leaving around 4am.  Shannon and I couldn't sleep that well, mainly because we were both excited and thinking about what needed to be packed.  I think we both just had a lot on our mind.  Shannon ended up getting about 2 hours of sleep and I got about 4 hours.

Since we were all up so early, we ended up leaving an hour earlier than we planned.  Overall, we made great timing and that extra hour gave us the time to stop for breaks to get out and stretch.

We made it to our hotel in Kissimmee, FL around 3:45pm.  Check-in wasn't until 4pm.  The hotel has a little park that Kyle played at while we were waiting.  We finally got into our room around 4:30pm.

The hotel also has a pool, bouncy house, arcade, and many other features.

Yes and No

Yesterday afternoon, I discovered that Kyle can now sign "yes" and "no." I've signed it for him in the past and he would just look at me, but I could tell he was absorbing the information.

We are pretty sure that his teachers and speech therapist are working with to teach him to say and sign "yes" and "no."

We also realized that Kyle has learned so much this past year at his current school than he did when he was attending his former school for two years of preschool.
