Urgent Care

I realized this morning that my inhaler for my asthma is close to empty. Since I need it for a quick relief when I can barely breathe without wheezing, I decided it's time to go to a doctor. We're going to go to an Urgent Care place that we've seen a few times. I am going to ask for any and all asthma/allergy medicine I can get. LOL The doctor is going to probably think I am some addict! But I really like being able to breathe. I can't even walk up (down) the stairs without getting winded. I can barely go for a walk anymore either. I hate that I can barely workout for more than a few minutes without getting winded.

I am not saying the homeopathic remedies bought aren't working. We did go back a few days ago to buy some for my allergy to cats. That one definitely works. But the asthma one isn't as strong as I need it. I also think my allergies to pollen and grass are bothering me too. LOL

I am just relieved that Kyle doesn't seem to be allergic to anything.

Homeopathic Remedy

My asthma and allergies have been 10 times worse (or at least feels like it) since we moved. I haven't had this bad of asthma/allergies in at least 15 years or more. For the last 5 days, I haven't been able to sleep through the night without have a coughing fit! This is all stemmed from my asthma and not being able to breathe.

My MIL suggested a pharmacy that offers homeopathic medicines. I told her that I am open to trying them. For one, it would be more affordable for us since we don't have health insurance (we do, but it doesn't seem to cover much). Well, the visit was very quick. I told them what I was looking for and he went right to the shelf and picked up the product I needed. My DH and I are glad we didn't have to go to a clinic and pay an arm and a leg to see a "physicians assistant" and then pay another arm and leg for the prescription(s).

We also went to Walmart for a mini-trip. We needed a few more things.

We are excited because tomorrow -- our stuff will be HERE! I can't wait to find our Dyson vacuum and my air purifier! I want to do a thorough cleaning of our carpet in our room with the vacuum. We think both of these will also help with my asthma and allergies. Plus, we have a perfect use of the air purifier because it is supposed to clean the air of pollen, dust mites, and pet dander! Plus I will have a little more variety of clothes to wear! LOL

I've been thinking about medical transcription again. I hope to sign up for the course as soon as my DH finds a job. I want to wait until we get our schedules settle so I can figure out when I can study! I would hate to make a commitment to something and not have time for it. With our son, there's never a set schedule, because we never know if he'll be okay to play by himself, or he wants our attention. So everything we do is usually around his schedule.

I am all caught up on my pen pal letters. I mailed out the last 3 letters that were owed.

More Letters

I wrote 3 letters yesterday. I was ready to write more but my hand started to hurt and instead I sat down with my husband. I still have more letters to write. I am running out of envelopes and stamps. I didn't bring as many envelopes with me because I didn't expect to have to wait so long for the rest of our stuff. Plus, I didn't expect to get a bunch of letters! I am glad I have so many pen pals. I love writing and receiving letters.

Our stuff should be here by Tuesday. My DH and I can't wait for it to be here. Not that we need everything but it would be nice for our things to be here safe and sound.

Kyle is doing really well with the move here. He doesn't seem to have any allergies, except the runny nose from being outside, but I think that is normal? For me, it sucks. I can't really sleep at night unless I am sort of sitting up/leaning back on pillows. My asthma/allergies is affecting me during the day and at night.

We've also started playing the lottery! LOL It's kind of fun.

Getting Settled In

We finally arrived in North Carolina yesterday afternoon. We didn't get to our final destination until about 6:30pm last night. We stopped for gas and some antihistamine first. My allergies are going bonkers right now. I am not sure if it's the new environment/weather outside or because of my allergy to cats.

I took the antihistamine but apparently it only wants to work about 10% of the time. I looked up information regarding cat allergies on the internet and they did say if you open a window, it could help the air flow… so I have the window opened a bit and unfortunately it's cold outside. But I do like to breathe, so I have it opened. I also read that if you have an air purifier with a HEPA filter, it could help clean the air. So, I can't wait to get our air purifier, which happens to be packed with the rest of our stuff. I wanted to bring it with us, but my husband did not. So I feel like I am dying here. Our stuff won't get here until the end of the month, so I am dreading the wait. My asthma is also flared up. I had to use my inhaler about 6 times in a 12 hour time span. I hope to find an allergist soon, because I may need a refill on my inhaler real soon.

Greetings from Sallisaw, OK

We started our day in Amarillo, TX and we are now in Sallisaw, OK. We are very surprised we were able to get this far today. Our son was being very good in the car. It seems he's getting used to the long car rides. Every so often, we do stop to let him run around and get some of his energy out.

We have had McDonald's during this whole trip and we are a little tired of it! But it is cheap food and very quick. I am already feeling out of shape. I can't wait to workout again! I do try to fit in a few yoga and pilates poses here and there. I don't like eating this unhealthy for so long. I do try to get their fruit salads and yogurt parfaits every so often.

I wrote a total of 5 letters during this trip. I don't think I will write another letter until we get to our final destination. But we'll see.

Area 51

On the way to Las Vegas, we drove by Area 51. My husband and I always start talking about Area 51, UFOs, and aliens whenever we do drive by it. You can't SEE anything from the highway, but it is awesome just to go by it. It always makes me wonder, what is out there in Area 51. What are they hiding!?

Greetings from Las Vegas, NV

We're finally here in Vegas! We started our drive from Carson City, NV at 9:30am. We made a few stops along the way to eat and stretch out a bit. It's not easy traveling with a toddler who wants to play, walk, run, etc. We didn't have a hotel reservation for Vegas so we ended up staying at a hotel we've stayed at the last time we were here in 2004! Back in 2004, we were considering moving here and we took the weekend to check out the area. Instead, it just ended up being a mini-vacation.

Anyway, the room is beautiful! The beds look so comfy and luxurious! We also have free high speed internet access so I am happy about that.

My husband will be checking out hotels.com or any of the other hotel sites for discounts on hotel rooms.

About 30 miles outside of Las Vegas, our gas light came on and we were started to freak out that we wouldn't make it to the gas station. The drive to Vegas is basically desert with a two lane highway. Plus we had our son with us who was getting fussy and wanted to run and play. Luckily, we made it to Durango and made it safely to a gas station!

More Packing

We are finishing up our packing today. All of our clothes, except the ones we packed for the road are all packed up too. I also put together the plants I am taking with us.

This afternoon, our son was playing around in the living room while we were packing. He was entertaining himself, which is RARE these days since he's so curious and loves to explore where he's not supposed to.

My husband is going to unplug the TVs and the computers tonight. I am glad we decided to get a cell phone, just in case something happens while on the road. We are bringing the laptop with us, so hopefully we'll find Wi-Fi access.

Tomorrow will be the very last day for packing. My husband and his friend will pack the furniture, computers, and the TVs. I will be spending the day in a hotel room with our son. The hotel has free wireless internet access, so I hope to log on!

The last few days, I've been advertising my home businesses again. It's a new month, which means new sales! Please visit my website at: http://www.ItsYourTurn.go.cc

The Pod is Here

The pod arrived this afternoon around noon. It doesn’t look very big but my husband said it’s definitely big enough to hold all of our stuff. I also called all but one of our utility companies today.

We’ll be packing more tonight. I am having a hard time choosing which clothes I am taking with us on the road. LOL Plus my bag isn’t that big… I also have to pack our son’s clothes soon too.

I have a lot of houseplants but I am only taking a few of them plus all of the babies.

Started Packing

We started packing this afternoon. My husband is in a packing mood right now. The Pod is supposed to come tomorrow, which means we can start moving our stuff into it. My husband has also packed his bag with clothes for our long trip. I still have to pack my bag and my son's bags.

We're hoping to leave by this coming Friday! Tomorrow I plan on calling all of our utility companies to have them shut off our services.
