Seriously. Target is awesome!

A few days ago, I shared my huge ordering mistake. I admit it was my fault.

Needed to get out

I was feeling a little confined so we decided to get ready to go somewhere.  We ended up going for a drive.  We went to Red Robin to eat.  Kyle actually sat still the entire time!  We think it helped that we sat near the window so he had a nice view to look out of.  We had a nice quiet meal at a restaurant for the first time ever!

Afterward, we went to Target to walk around the store.  It was nice to get out of the house!

Since being back home from our vacation, Shannon has been job searching and applying like crazy.  It's nice not having to do everything around here for once.  He's actually doing his own job search and filling out online applications.  I just wish he started looking for jobs weeks ago.

In Florida, we ended up having a discussion about our marriage and I told him everything that bothered me and angered me about our marriage.  He didn't realize, nor did he see that everything was just building up and making me unhappy.  He thought that the little things do not matter, only the big things.  Since then, he's changed completely.

For the last 3 years, he would talk about nothing but his case.  He would always brush off what I wanted to talk about or my hobbies as things that do not matter.  He has also changed his direction in life.  He no longer bases his future on what a psychic told him.  He's finally thinking and planning for Plan B, rather than what may happen.  All of which, I believe he/we should have been doing the entire time.

A nice outing

Today, we went to Greensboro, NC to eat at Red Robin. We don't take Kyle out to eat at restaurants because of his special needs, so trips like this are far and few between. Afterwards, we went to Target. I earned a $10 gift card a few months ago, so I wanted to use it. I ended up getting paper towels and a pack of 2 bras ($16.99). It was so odd going to Target since we normally don't shop there. I can tell they are trying to look like a department store. They have nicer shelving and displays for their merchandise. This particular Target had a fresh/frozen food section, as well as a Starbucks in it! Wow! Target sure has changed.

Interview for Walmart

I had my interview with Walmart today. I had to wait 15 minutes before they called me in, they did apologize and said they were running behind, which I understand. They are going to make a job offer to me, but I have to go back in tomorrow morning! LOL The manager who is going to do that was at lunch at the time. The interview process was more formal than I thought. I had 3 different people sitting in on the interview and one person asking the questions (there were only about 6 or 8 questions). Then they did a second interview with the manager, both interviews took about 20 minutes total. Then they wanted me to go out to the registers and observe a cashier doing the job. That way, it gives the candidate a chance to determine whether or not the job is for them or not. It was pretty busy at the registers! Busy is good, it makes your shift go by much quicker. Every time we have gone to Walmart, it's busy at the registers!

I've been a cashier at Target before and they were never busy everyday. They were usually busy on the weekends. But then again, Target doesn't have a grocery side to it. I am sure more than ever, more people are shopping at Walmart for everything they need.

I have never worked here in North Carolina, so this will be interesting. From what I hear, the people are different from what I am used to and have grown up with, they have different standards. You have to watch what you say, they are all (or at least most of them are) church-going people. I am expecting a culture shock. Although, the people here are really nice here.

Also, it sounds like I won't have to take a drug test either! Shannon said it seems to be a common thing, that employers don't require drug tests!

While I was waiting to be interviewed, I wanted to find out what the dress code is. Their uniform is khaki pants and a dark blue, blue, or navy blue shirts. Pretty easy. I happen to not have either, so I will need to buy a few pants and shirts. Target required khaki pants and red shirts. Also, I saw employees wearing sneakers, so I am happy about that. I want to be comfortable at work.
