Two Miles of Walking and Yoga

Kyle and I walked at least two miles total!  Today is the first day of summer break for him.  We went for a walk around our apartment complex and I am guessing it was about a mile walk, although I could be wrong.  We went for a walk around 9:25am and then again at around 12:40pm or so.  It was overcast and not hot at all when we went for a walk the first time.  However, when we went for a walk in the afternoon, it was hot and humid!

This morning, I also did 15 minutes of yoga!

Shannon has been working non-stop since we moved.  So he’s been working just about every day for the last three weeks.  I think after this, he won’t be volunteering for this many days of work.  But then again, he knows we need the money.  He is trying to pay off his credit card, plus we have bills.

I did manage to save us about $21 a month by switching our car and renter’s insurance.  I am very happy with the change.  I am also ecstatic about saving that much per month!

I'm sick now!

Yesterday was Kyle's last day of school!  They had substitute bus and bus drivers yesterday and we ended up taking him and picking him up from school.  We weren't sure if the substitute buses would be equipped for Kyle.  He was pretty much sick the whole week but we sent him to school since there was only one week left.

The last few days, I noticed I wasn't feeling right.  I had a tickle in the back of my throat.  I also had a headache here and there.  Yesterday evening, I really started to feel sick!  I took over the counter medicine to help me sleep and it helped me sleep 5 hours and then I had to take another dose which helped me sleep another 4 hours.

Summer is here!  Although, we don't have any plans right now.  We're just taking it day by day.

New toys

My MIL and I went shopping today. First, we went to Kmart and she bought him an adjustable basketball hoop and two puzzles made of wood. The puzzles are the wooden ones (like the one below). The ones we bought have animals, planes, helicopters, etc.

Here is what his basketball hoop looks like ~

I also bought Kyle some sunscreen because he spends so much time outside. It's made for babies and great for sensitive skin. I bought a few other things that I needed as well.

Then we went to Walmart and I picked up some food that we needed! My MIL went to go look at bedding, she wanted to check out the new line of bedding called Canopy that they are now carrying. I have seen the commercials and it sounds like their products are made of high quality materials! While I was putting the groceries in the trunk, this lady pulls up right next to me and rolls down her window. At first it scared me, I am always aware of my surroundings. I took a step back because I wasn't sure what she was going to do. Then she says, "Hi, how are you?" She pulls out an Avon catalog and hands it to me. LOL I asked her for another one for my MIL and she gave me one. I don't have any plans to buy anything from Avon at the moment.

When we got home, I checked the mail and I received the samples from Monet Minerals! Instead of receiving 5, she sent me 6! I can't wait to play with the colors more. I did play with a few of the colors this evening, but I am looking forward to experimenting more!

Otter Pops, School, and more

Since the weather heated up, we've introduced Kyle to ice cream and otter pops. He loves both! Otter Pops remind me of summertime and childhood. Since Kyle likes playing outside, (while it's scorching hot) we try to give him one each day. The end up cooling all of us off!

Shannon starts college next week! Since he signed up, the school calls at least once or twice a week. So far, he's heard from at least 3 different people from the school. His counselor calls most often. He called today wanting him to come in to do some sort of computer thing, which should only "take a few minutes" as he put it. When Shannon told me that, I about flipped and even said to him, "They want you to drive 45 minutes to do something that will only take a few minutes [on the computer]?!?!?! Then the counselor remembered that he isn't "nearby" and said he could do it online.

I can tell Shannon is very excited and I am excited for him. He will be studying a subject he LOVES. I know he will do very well. So far, he says logging in and accessing the forum/online classroom is easy.

We have our second appointment with the bankruptcy attorney in two weeks. We'll probably have my MIL watch Kyle during that time. I think she really liked the last time. Plus, it's easier for us, we won't have to worry about keeping him occupied in an attorney's office! LOL

My workouts have been going well. I have done almost all of the workout videos that come with this program and they are all very challenging. Turbo Jam keeps me motivated and I am always looking forward to working out. It's nice to have a different workout routine.
