Out of the Ordinary Monday

This is Kyle's last week of school.  I got him off to school with no problems.  He doesn't seem to like riding the bus or just doesn't want to go to school.  His teacher said he cries a little bit in the morning and then he's fine the rest of the day.

Shannon had his LSAT test yesterday, the instructions said to be there by 12:30pm.  He left around 10am, since the test location was in Winston-Salem, which is about 45 minutes from here.

Soon after Shannon left, my MIL and I went to the laundromat to do our laundry for the week!  This time around I had 4 loads of laundry!  I had to wash our clothes (darks and whites), towels, and bedsheets.  It took about an hour and a half to do all of our laundry, which is about the average time for us.

When brought Kyle home from the bus stop, I made him a little "afternoon meal" since he usually eats and drinks when he gets home.  My MIL wanted to go to The Home Depot and then to the park for a walk.  Kyle loves riding in the car, so he loved it.  When we got to The Home Depot, I tried walking around the store with him, but he wanted to sit in the cart.  I ended up getting some toilet bowl cleaner, I bought the Martha Stewart brand of toilet bowl cleaner.  She has a line of cleaning products that are safe for the environment.  They are safe to use around kids, which is all I care about.  It seems to work pretty well and doesn't have a stinky smell.

Our trip to the park was nice.  The weather was heating up for some reason, even though the rest of the day was sunny, but with a cool breeze!  We pointed out the squirrels to Kyle.  When he saw them, he would run towards them.  I am not sure if he wanted to play with them or try to catch them!  It was so cute!  The squirrels would run towards the tree on the opposite side so we couldn't see them and then run up the tree.  Kyle didn't know they would run up the tree so he would run around to the other side of the tree and look confused.  Then we pointed up in the tree and he saw that they ran up the tree every time.  He had fun trying to chase the squirrels!

Shannon got home around 5:30pm or so, much earlier than I expected!  He said the test was much harder than he anticipated!  He said it was intense and he felt rushed!  He said he felt like his brain was fried and it looked like the other test takers had the same look.  His test results will be available in about 3 weeks!

June 9th

Kyle has 3 more days left of school and then it's summer vacation!  Kyle's last day of preschool is June 9th!

Shannon has his LSAT test tomorrow!  I sharpened his No. 2 pencils today, otherwise, he waits until the last minute.  He's only allowed to bring in a one gallon ziploc bag.  He can carry his pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, beverage, snack, and ID.  That is all he's allowed to bring in to the test.  His ziploc bag is packed with his pencils, erasers, and pencil sharpener so far and ready to go.

Kyle has school tomorrow, so I will be alone until I have to get Kyle at the bus stop at around 2:45pm-3pm.  I am not expecting Shannon home until 9pm-10pm maybe even later.

Last night I was thinking about making soy candles again.  I was searching online for starter kits and think I may have found one that I like.  I am interested in making votive candles for now.  I don't like the BIG jar candles anymore.  Votives are a perfect size.  I love burning soy candles and enjoying how good they smell.

She hasn't called you back?!

I called Speakability again today since it's been almost a week since I called to leave a message with the person who answered the phone.  The lady that answered today even remembered that I called before!  She sounded surprised that "what's her name" hadn't returned my call!  So I left my information again, let's see if she'll call me.

Kyle went to school today!  I sent him to school with an order for his school pictures.  I ordered their "most popular package" since it was so hard to decide, plus it was at a decent price.  He came home with an easter basket that was made by the local high school students!  It has more toys than candy, which is good!  One of the toys was bubbles, so I took that out and played with Kyle.  He LOVES bubbles!  He loves trying to pop them!  I took him outside to play with them but it was windy so the bubbles were going in every direction too fast for him.  I'll have to wait another day until there is little to no wind.

Shannon received his last shipment of LSAT study materials he ordered.  He's been reading through his books since he received them.  He officially registered to take the LSAT in early June!!!  I am so glad that the books are giving him so much confidence!  They are full of tips and methods to help take the test. He wanted to register as early as he could for the test in June because there are only a certain number of spots available to take the test.  If they are all gone, he would have to wait until the next one.

I've been wanting to try a different type of workout using kettlebells.  I saw an infomercial for "kettleworx" and after reading the reviews on amazon, they were mixed.  They were saying he doesn't show the correct way to do the exercises AND he doesn't do the same amount of reps on each side of the body.  For example, he'll work the right arm 23 times and the left arm 19 times.  Some people were bothered by that, which I can understand.  I found that QVC sold kettleworx, but while looking at it, I saw someone mention another program called "kettlenetics."  I looked further at the product and found that it was customer top rated which told me something.  I ended up getting that set to start with!  I was impressed with the QVC price and what you get with the set!

Studying for LSAT, Dr. Appointment, Plant Fever

Kyle had another doctor appointment, this time it was with an "ear, nose, and throat" doctor.  Before seeing that doctor, Kyle saw the audiologist and he gave him a hearing test again.  He said his hearing looks to be in the normal range.  The "ear, nose, and throat" doctor looked into Kyle's ears.  He said he's going to send over the test results to Kyle's pediatrician as well.  As we left the doctor office, they gave me a piece of paper for billing (to give to the appointment setter) and it said they are going to bill our insurance (medicaid) $418!!

I still haven't heard back from Speakability.  I called them last Thursday and left a message with the person who answered the phone.  I need to call them again and set something up!  Kyle needs private speech therapy.

Since Shannon received some of his study materials for the LSAT test, he's started reading through the books.  He feels better and more prepared to take the test.  They give him tips and tricks on taking the test.  He's learning other ways to answer the test questions too.  He's still waiting on another shipment of practice tests.

I received my curly spider plant that I won on ebay today!  It's bigger than I thought it would be.  For now, it's in the pot that I bought for it.  I plan on getting a bigger pot.  I removed the babies (there were 9 of them) that came with it and planted them in other pots of plants!  I also gave two [of the nine] babies to my MIL.  She has them in her office/sitting room that is attached to their bedroom.  I also re-potted my solid green spider plants with fresh potting soil!  They are getting too big for the small pot they are in.  Once I get another pot, I can separate them and give them more room.

Back to School

Kyle went back to school today!  He was out of school for over a week!  It was nice to have him at school!  I am a little disappointed that they didn't save an Easter basket or easter eggs for him.  We had sent him to school with a big bag of easter eggs and 3 bags of candy for the kids and he received none of it!

A few weeks ago, they took pictures at school and they sent an envelope home with a sample picture of how they turned out.  He looks so cute in his picture!  Now we just have to decide which package to buy!  I don't know how they got him to sit still long enough to take his picture!  LOL

I received half of my order from Walmart today.  I ordered some colorful short sleeved tops, which I need for summer.  The only short sleeved tops I have are all blue, and they were from when I was working at Walmart!  I am waiting for the other half of my order, which should arrive tomorrow.

Shannon is getting ready to take the LSAT test.  He's aiming to take it in June.  He ordered some study materials and some of them arrived today.

I am still waiting for the plant I won on ebay to arrive, it looks like it will arrive tomorrow.  I am ready to pot up my new plant in a permanent home!

Time for LSAT

Shannon has started looking into taking the LSAT test, which helps him get into Law School.  He ordered some study books, materials, and practice tests.  The LSAT is given 4 times a year.  The next LSAT test is in June, and he would have to register by May 7th.  He's considering taking it then.
