We gave Kyle a haircut tonight. He does not like to have his haircut, nor his nails trimmed. He always runs away.
His hair was really shaggy and long and he has picture day on Wednesday. We don't plan on buying pictures but when they send home the proofs of his school pictures, we may buy them! That's we did last time. His picture was so cute and they got him to smile that we bought one!
What is Crunchy? "Green;" environmentally-friendly. I love green cleaning and making my own laundry soap!
His First Visit To His New School
Kyle starts school in just a few days! He will be starting 6th grade at a brand new school, in a new school district.

No extra hours
Shannon hasn't been called in to work any extra hours this week. He did let them know that next week he will not be available and we were wondering if maybe the person doing the schedule may have misread the schedule thinking he meant this week...
Shannon got his haircut today. He really needed it. Kyle needs a haircut badly, however he won't allow us near him for that. He also doesn't like having his nails trimmed, I was barely able to trim them yesterday.
My mother-in-law called this afternoon letting us know they won't be coming up this week. Now they are both feeling sick. First, my father-in-law wasn't feeling well and now my mother-in-law isn't feeling well. They also started the application process with the apartment complex. She said she called them today to let them know they would like to apply and after telling the lady their name and talking about the apartment, the lady said, "But you were already approved." Then my mother-in-law had to explain to the lady that they are our parents/in-laws! LOL They had a good laugh and the lady told her that she distinctly remembers working on our application. Plus, our last name is not a common one, such as "Smith" or "Jones." They are applying for the same type of apartment we want, the two bedroom, one bath - 1100 sq ft. They originally wanted the smaller two bedroom but they realized it wouldn't fit their dining room table. They may even be assigned the same building as us?
I am pretty sure I am sick...or getting there. A few days ago, I noticed a tickle in my throat. Last night, it was difficult to fall asleep with a sore throat. Today, I had a sore throat and a cough here and there, but not too bad. I just hope I can concentrate during my test tomorrow. I have my certification test tomorrow morning! I have been cramming/studying as much as I can. I read through my notes little by little throughout the day. I don't think I am nervous about the actual test, I am more worried about getting their on time! The test is at 9am but need to be there by 8:30am. Like my final exam, the certification test is 100 questions. If it is as easy as my final exam was, I should do fine. I will be doing a little more studying tomorrow morning before my test too.

Haircut!
I just got back from getting my hair cut! The last time I had my hair cut was in May 2011! I love my hair cut! It feels lighter and will be easier to take care of.
I had to walk to our credit union to deposit some cash and a check and then stopped at Great Clips to get my hair cut. I had a coupon for a hair cut for only $7.50! Shannon needs a haircut too! I have another coupon for him to use. We also need to cut Kyle's hair. His hair is so long, he's looking like a cute little elf!
Shannon works tonight from 10pm until 6am. Hopefully we can go grocery shopping later today since we are almost out of food.
I also gave in a purchased 5 air plants today since they were having a Cyber Monday special (free shipping)!
This one is called a Xerographica:
The one below is called Ionantha Peanut (Buy one get one free):
The last one is called Ionantha Druid (Buy one get one free):
I think I am going to get into Tillandsia (air plants) since they don't require soil! My houseplants that are in soil are always spilling over and causing a mess because Kyle likes to climb on the shelving that they sit on!

Sunday
I made another batch of homemade laundry soap this morning.
I am slowly trying to get back into couponing at Walgreens to help us save money on the non-food items we need. I had Shannon pick up the Sunday paper on the way home from work. I went through the Walgreens ad and matched my coupons with what was on sale. I took Kyle for a walk to Walgreens and bought 2 bottles of conditioner, 2 boxes of Always pads, and 2 packages of Pampers. I also picked up my free 8x10 photo that I ordered a few days ago while Walgreens was offering the special!
It was nice to get out of the house since Kyle and I have been indoors since last Tuesday.
Shannon worked last night at his security job from 11pm until 7am and has to work again today from 3pm until 9pm at Best Buy. We plan on closing our Wells Fargo accounts and moving our money to our credit union! Monday norning, I plan to deposit money into our credit union. After I do that, I can get my haircut since there's a Supercuts in the same shopping center. I haven't had my hair cut in over a year and half!
Shannon was called about working extra shifts for his security job. He is now working tonight from 11pm until 7am and the same for Monday and Tuesday! We need the money!

Haircut
Yesterday, we gave Kyle a haircut!! When I asked him if he wanted to get a haircut, he ran his hand through his hair and tried to say "haircut." In the past, I would ask him if he wanted a haircut and run my hands through his hair and make a buzzing sound (like the clippers we use).
It was so surprising that he remembered and understood what we were asking.

Haircut!
We gave Kyle a haircut! He really needed one, considering his last haircut was back in April! His hair was so long. Shannon shaved it while I made sure he stayed sitting on the counter. After his haircut, I gave him a bath. He looks completely different!
He starts school in two days! We have his open house tomorrow night!

Haircut x2
While Kyle was at school, Shannon and I went to get our haircut at the same time! There's a "shopping center" with a barber shop and salon right next to each other. A majority of their clientele are senior citizens. Thankfully the salon accepts "walk ins" so I got right in! Shannon also got right in without a wait. Shannon was done about 15 minutes before me. I am just so glad I got my haircut since it hasn't been cut since July 2010!!!! My hair is just below my shoulders and I have long side swept bangs that go to the middle of my cheek and longer. My hair has layers in it too. I love it. Shannon needed to get his haircut because he has to go to court on Monday and he didn't want to appear shaggy.
I turned in the paperwork to get Kyle registered for Kindergarten next year! I still need to turn in a few more papers but I can't do that until we see his doctor next week!

Pool, Bath, Haircut, Repeat!
Kyle had an eventful day yesterday! The weather was sunny and warm enough for him to play in his pool! He loved it! Here are the videos I recorded:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPwseG_J2fk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-cNZoCuPZM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41aaKpQExz4
I believe it took 5 hours to upload all 3 of them to youtube! I didn't go to sleep until about 11pm because I didn't want to start over. Plus, I couldn't leave my computer because I would have to restart if I left it alone too long.
Kyle playing in the pool for at least an hour, if not more. He always has so much fun. After he got out of the pool, I gave him a bath. Then my MIL wanted to cut his hair since it was getting so long (as you can see in the videos). Kyle sits on the kitchen counter so my MIL can shave his head. Shannon made sure he didn't fall and I held a mirror up so Kyle could "see" was happening (he loves mirrors).
After his head was shaved, he jumped into the pool and we let him play for another hour or so. Instead of giving him another bath, we just dried him off and got him dressed again.

Second day in a row
I love my new workout so much that I did it again today! I woke up this morning a little sore from the day before of doing the new workout. I felt a little more sore after doing the workout today. I start to get short of breath during the warm up [of the workout] but then I remember how much fun I am having and just keep going. I do stop a few times throughout to drink water. I forgot how much I enjoy Turbo Jam and can't wait to get more videos to add to my collection!
Shannon received his Eminem CD today! He's already listened to a few songs on the CD. I am really glad I was finally able to use my Amazon gift cards to get something for him for a change! I am still waiting for the Twilight Saga hardcover book set and satin pillowcases.
Shannon went to get his haircut today, it's been a few months and his hair was getting long! I also had him stop by the grocery store for a few things. We needed eggs, orange juice, chocolate milk, and toilet paper.

Highlights and Haircut!
I worked yesterday from 1pm to 5pm. After work, I went to the salon within the mall to get my haircut and highlighted. Since I work in the mall, I got a 20% discount on my haircut and highlights! I really needed a haircut since it's been almost 8 months since my last haircut. I was going to wait a few weeks to get my haircut but decided to do it now since my work schedule is so crazy! I am not looking forward to next week's schedule. I am only working one night and the rest I am working the morning shift and off by 4pm or 4:30pm. I hope I have less hours in the coming weeks.
Work is going okay. I am understanding how to do a lot of the different transactions but will still need help here and there. Working in a department store is completely different from working at Walmart. We are able to do returns and exchanges at the register, unlike at Walmart, you have to go to a separate area. I don't "like or enjoy" the job, but it's a job for now. In a way, I miss working in Walmart since we always shop there and I already know the store.
I am off of work today, taking it easy and just relaxing. My next day off isn't until Friday! UGH! I hate split days off and working in retail. I miss working in hotels, they actually give you two days off in a row!

Fourth of July evening
Kyle got his haircut this evening by my MIL. Kyle sat on the kitchen counter and he was able to see himself in the big mirror on the wall. Of course, he didn't like it and kept squirming around. Afterwards, I took him outside to brush the hair off his clothes, face, and neck. He ended up wanting to run around outside. He was running around smiling and touching his head! He loved the weather and I think he realized he hasn't played around outside in weeks. It was perfect beautiful weather and the sun was still out. He played with his tricycle for a bit and then we pulled out the hose for him to play with the water.
I am wanting to get my haircut. Hopefully this week or next I can get it done before or after one of my shifts at work. I have been thinking about getting highlights again, I haven't had that done in a few years. I think it will look good for the summertime.

Haircut
Kyle got a haircut this afternoon! His grandma gave him a haircut. It looks cute. Instead of shaving his head altogether, she was able to trim it. Daddy had him sit on the kitchen counter where Kyle could watch himself in the mirror. He got to see his hair being trimmed, which seemed to fascinate him. I gave him a bath soon after his haircut

Preschool News and Work Clothes
Shannon shaved Kyle's head today! He looks adorable! Immediately after, I gave Kyle a bath since there was hair everywhere! Kyle went nuts because he's scared of the noise of the razor. By the time he got in the bath, he was fine.
We had a meeting at the main offices for the local school district for Kyle today. The whole meeting lasted 1 hour. This was the final meeting to discuss whether or not Kyle would qualify for special education and discuss what they (the school psychologist, speech therapist, audiologist, and preschool teachers) came up with. In this meeting, it was just the preschool teachers. They discussed the entire report written by everyone above and it was determined that Kyle qualifies for special education with the school district! They already have a school and class picked out for him. He would attend from 7 AM til 2 PM for 3 days a week and have speech therapy for 2 (of the 3) days a week! They also asked if we wanted Kyle to be picked up by a school bus. My 3 (almost 4) year old...on a school bus!? Shannon and I opted to take Kyle to school for now. I am also going to put in to have my availability at work changed. I don't even know if it would be approved or not, but it doesn't hurt to put in for it. Kyle's preschool teacher will call us, otherwise we can call her to set up the days for Kyle to come in. This particular class has about 6 kids, but they all don't attend everyday. So the days we choose, there may be less kids there. This class has a teacher and a teacher's aide.
The two pairs of jeans that I bought from Walmart on Black Friday fit much better after I washed them! I am so glad that they fit me! Before they were washed, they were really big on me. I decided to keep them because they were only $9 and plus they hadn't been washed yet.
I received my order from JC Penney's!! I ordered black Reebok shoes, dark brown corduroy pants, and a zip hoodie for work. They all fit really well! The shoes seem comfortable, I haven't tried them on with my WalkFit insoles yet. Surprisingly, the pants fit around the waist. I never know what my sizes are anymore. I bought corduroy because I have always wanted a pair to wear for work. I haven't had a pair of corduroy pants in several years. Hopefully after a wash, they will fit better! My hoodie fits just perfect too, really soft. It's starting to get cold at work so it will be nice to have something to keep me warm. I am trying to pull away from buying my clothes at Walmart as much as I can since clothes from there don't seem to last me that long. All of my work pants are from Walmart and they are labeled a size 4 and they literally feel like a size 10 because they are so big on me!

Two Treats for Myself
I got my haircut after work yesterday! I had about 8 or 9 inches cut off! My hair is now shoulder length. I love how short it is, my long hair was getting on nerves and in my way. Shannon said he likes the length too.
I also had enough gift cards saved up to buy myself something through Amazon! I heard a news story from one of our local news stations about a product called Pro X by Oil of Olay. Our local news station wanted to know if this product worked or not, so they did a story about it. It's nice to know that this product does work. So I found the product on Amazon and "bought" it for $0!
This weekend was busy at work. I am so glad to have the next two days off! I am ready for a break! Last night, I went to bed early. I was off by 4 PM and went to bed around 8:30 PM.

Just in time
Kyle woke up around 8:01 AM, which also happened to wake me up. I had to quickly wake Shannon up for his 8:30 AM appointment for the car. It took about 5 or 6 hours for the car to get fixed, thankfully Shannon got a ride home from his dad. I am anxious to hear how much more efficient our car will be, since it got a well needed tune up. We've had our car for 7 years, they said they are taking care of the 30,000 and 60,000 mile tune up!
He also has to pick up his dry cleaning and get a hair cut. Then he's stopping off at Walmart for a few things.
I woke up feeling a little sick. Shannon said he's also not feeling well. Kyle still isn't 100% himself, but it hasn't slowed him down one bit. I am not sure what we have, I just hope we get better soon!
Shannon's interview is tomorrow afternoon at 5 PM. The hotel is about 2 1/2 hours away, so he's leaving early just in case. While he is gone, I plan on cleaning the bathroom and making sure we have our paperwork ready for the bankruptcy attorney appointment on Friday.

Just one of those days
We shaved Kyle's head today. He did not enjoy it, and kept trying to run away. He looks much better and I am sure he'll feel a difference when there's a nice breeze outside. Hopefully it will be cooler for him, since he loves being outside.
I saw a snake in the backyard today! It was about 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet long. It was a blackish grey snake, so we think it's harmless. When I saw it, there was a bird playing around it and I saw the head sticking up from the grass so I wasn't sure what it was, it looked like a twig sticking up. So I ran up to it and saw that it was a snake. It started slithering away from me and I ran along side (not too close). I stopped, it stopped and then it stuck it's tongue out. I started moving closer to it and it slithered away.
My in-laws are leaving tomorrow for their vacation. They don't have a return date, but they are aiming for a week long vacation.
I have the dinner meals planned out for this week! We bought ingredients for 3 different casseroles, and a frozen pizza. I also plan on making Monkey Munch. I first tried this recipe in high school and only knew it as "puppy chow." But I love Jon & Kate Plus 8 and Kate calls it "monkey munch." So, I am sticking with that name...Monkey Munch. It's cute!

I also bought some clothes on the clearance rack for only $3! I needed some workout clothes and found shorts and tees. I also bought a pajama capri bottom with tinkerbell on it, also on clearance! I am leery about buying clothes from Walmart, because they don't usually last very long, so we'll see. Although, I did have a pair of pajama bottoms I bought from Walmart and they lasted me about 9 or 10 years!

Shopping and Pizza
My mother-in-law and I went to the mall today. I got my haircut...finally! It's been about a year and a half since I've had my haircut. My hair was down to my elbows! I was so annoyed with my long hair and hated combing through it after a shower. Just glad to have it short again! The hairdresser used a flat iron to curl my hair, which I didn't know you could use (I always assumed you had to use a curling iron).
We shopped at JC Penney's, Sears, and Belk. I ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans that were on sale. I tried looking for tops, but they were all more than I wanted to spend. I have more of a Mervyn's, Target, Walmart, or Kmart type of budget.
On our way home, we decided to get pizza! It was so good. Kyle had a few pieces too.
Shannon finally received a call back from the unemployment office. They are going to send him another card. They claimed it was sent out on April 6th, which we never received. He already has 4 weeks worth of pay on the card.
The "really rude creditor" is still harassing us. He left another voicemail today, and he didn't identify himself! LOL I can't wait until we officially file for bankruptcy, then he will have to STOP calling. I wish I knew how to record his voicemail and put it on the internet. They are hilarious. He actually sounds like an abusive/obsessive type of person. He sounds like a guy who would be verbally abusive to his wife or girlfriend, just by the way his voicemail sounds. He is pretty much demanding that we call him back.
I am still waiting on our package from the Post Office. I checked the status of our package ad it somehow ended up in Charlotte! They called us 3 days ago to say they can't find it. I waited 2 days before contacting them again via the web and they called us today. I have to call them back tomorrow. In the meantime, I already re-ordered the same product from another website. I wish I had purchased it from the second website, they didn't charge an arm and a leg for shipping and they shipped my order within 24 hours! Plus, I was able to pay by Paypal.

Say Ahhh!
Kyle loves playing with flashlights, especially a mini maglite flashlight. Tonight his Dad taught him how to say "ahhh." You have to hold the light towards your mouth and say "ahhh" and then point the light to Kyle's mouth and he'll say "ahhh." LOL
I found a preschool taught through a church that is close by. They had a sign with their website, so I looked them up. I emailed the director asking if they have any openings for a 3 year old. I need to call her this week. I've been talking to Shannon about wanting to enroll Kyle in preschool. I need to talk to the director for more information, but I am leaning towards enrolling Kyle there. Kyle could meet other kids his age and have lots of fun playing and learning. I also like this place because it's really affordable as well!
My in-laws have a busy day tomorrow. They have to take their dog to the vet for an operation, they also have to take their truck in to get it reupholstered, then they need to pick up their seat cushion that is getting re-stuffed. Lastly, they are having their new refrigerator delivered!
Kyle's hair is growing so long and Shannon wants to shave it. We may do that on Tuesday, since it's supposed to rain on Monday.
Since Earth Day is this week, I wanted to see if there was a local event we could go to and found one! It's next Saturday at the park and free to attend. It looks like there will be lots of family friendly activities.

Nothing New except Hugs and Kisses
Last week, we shaved Kyle’s head! Since it’s cold, I’ve been putting a hoodie over his head when we go outside for our daily walk. I am surprised he keeps it on his head because he used to always take it off.
We sent in the additional info to our local health department and now we’re waiting to hear back on whether or not we qualify. We will apply for WIC if we need additional help with food costs.
Yesterday I wanted to see if Kyle understood the words “hugs” and “kisses” without me doing the gestures. Usually when I ask him for a hug, I put my arms out and he always runs to hug me. Shannon would ask him for a hug the same way. Well instead of putting my arms out, I just asked him if I could get a hug and he ran right over to me and put out his arms to hug me. Then I asked him for a kiss and he gave me a kiss.
Shannon applied for another job this week. We are really hoping to hear back from this one, he really likes the sound of this particular company. Meanwhile, we are both keeping our eyes open to any other positions.

Two days off together
Our Saturday
We had a rainy, windy, thunder, lightning, and hail of a day. We had storms throughout the day. Then around 5:30pm, while we were watching Lost on our DVR, the power went out! We listened to the weather report on our police scanner which was entertaining for a bit. I decided to take a quick power nap too. I was tired and I didn’t get to sleep in until about 1pm, like SOMEONE (my husband) did. The power outage lasted a little over an hour, but it was the longest hour ever. LOL
Our Sunday
Shannon had two consecutive days off this week. We went grocery shopping today at a store we have never been to and unfortunately, we are very disappointed. First, we were over charged for some of the products we bought and she also charged me twice on a few items. I didn’t notice this until we were all in the car ready to go. So, you are probably thinking, it’s my fault for not watching my items being rung up. But, imagine being in a brand new store - I prefer to check out my surroundings, watch my son, and make sure my husband doesn’t need help. We decided not to go back into the store and dispute the bill because there was only one cashier and there was a line forming, and most of all, Kyle was getting antsy.
I was going to email the company but unfortunately they don’t list an email address or even a “contact us” page. Then I thought I would call the store and I can’t even find their phone number. Even when I looked on the yellow pages website, there are no phone numbers listed for ANY of their stores, just the addresses. The ONLY way to contact them is to write them a letter! I am so pissed that I couldn't find a phone number or an email address that I just may write them. LOL Shannon says not to worry about it, but this will bother me.
All in all, we have decided not to return to this particular store. They don’t deserve our business. They advertise LOW prices, but they must get away with doing that by actually overcharging their customers at checkout. When a product is marked at a certain price, I expect to be charged that, not overcharged. Plus, they don't carry some of the poducts that I use, so we only ended up buying a portion of what we normally buy. So, we are sticking with Walmart.
We also shaved Kyle’s head! He didn’t like the whole process but after it was over, he was fine.
